10/10 Energetic, hard. It makes you get pumped.

2 Classical

Best genre of music ever! Goes at top of my list. A lot of expression, dynamic contrast, instruments, it is so good!

Great for the time, but boring now 4/10

10/10 it made one of the best songs ever

5 Ambient
6 Art Rock
7 Death Metal
8 Blues Rock Blues rock is a fusion genre combining elements of blues and rock. It is mostly an electric ensemble-style music with instrumentation similar to electric blues and rock: electric guitar, electric bass, and drums, often with Hammond organ.
9 Blues Blues is a music genre and musical form originated by African Americans in the Deep South of the United States around the end of the 19th century.

My rating for Blues goes off the scale.

10 Pop

Awesome genre! But it got ruined by the music that we have today 5/10

6/10 overall but some pop artists themselves get a 10/10

The Contenders
11 Christian Rock
12 Jazz

9.5 / 10. I totally love traditional Jazz and big band swing but there are some modern Jazz I'm not keen on and some subgenres such as Acid-Jazz.

13 Country

Classic Country - 8.9/10
Modern Country (21st century) - a low 2/10. It just doesn't have that same typical Country feel to it. It certainly doesn't have the heart that classic Country music has.

Boring, but decent for environmental stuff 3/10

14 Thrash Metal Thrash Metal is a Heavy Metal subgenre developed during the early 1980s and an early precursor of Extreme Metal. 9.9/10 from me. Fast, heavy and energetic with great riffs, solos and very often - really meaningful lyrics. The only small disadvantage for me is that some thrash bands tend to overuse the snare drums.

15 Hard Rock Hard Rock is a subgenre of rock music known for having heavier guitar riffs/solos. It originated around 1964-1965 with various Garage Rock bands.
16 Electronic
17 Post-Grunge
18 Power Metal

8/10. Not very heavy but a very demanding metal subgenre. It's pretty fast and melodic, with the best clean vocals in metal. Lyrics are very good, close to poetry.
Disadvantage: many bands cross the thin line between melodic metal and pop-like crap, and make the whole subgenre sound cheesy. But if done correctly, power metal is awesome - Blind Guardian play the heaviest and most complex version of power metal.

4/10 - I never got into this. It's far too cheesy and generic for my tastes.

19 Folk

The older I get, I'm finding that I appreciate Folk more. I think 7/10 is a pretty decent rating. I prefer classic 60s/70s Folk though.

20 Rap

Its decent for some mood and is catchy, but it got ruined by butts 4/10

21 Disco Disco is a genre of dance music and a subculture that emerged in the 1970s from the United States' urban nightlife scene. Its sound is typified by four-on-the-floor beats, syncopated basslines, string sections, horns, electric piano, synthesizers, and electric rhythm guitars.
22 Black Metal

Eh, I dunno. Maybe 4.5. I don't really hate it, but the production and vocals grate on my ears.

23 Grunge Grunge (sometimes referred to as the Seattle sound) is a subgenre of alternative rock and a subculture that emerged during the mid-1980s.

7/10. I like some Grunge, but not everything.

24 Dubstep
25 Punk Rock Punk rock is a subgenre of rock music. It usually has rebellious lyrics and down stroked power chords played on guitars. Bad Religion, Sex Pistols, and Green Day (actually pop-punk, which is still punk in a way) are a few punk rock bands. The subgenre influenced thrash metal because of it's down stroked guitar playing and other factors.

4/10 - it's too simplistic for my likings and I find the shout-y vocals to be pretty annoying. the Misfits and the Clash are the only bands that I like from this genre
