Best Albums from Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter" Series
The Tha Carter series is an iconic run of studio albums by the influential rap giant, Lil Wayne. The titles simply come from his last name. The series began with 'Tha Carter' in 2004, released under 'Cash Money Records'.The most recent release was 'Tha Carter V' in 2018, which came out under Lil Wayne's own record label, 'Young Money Entertainment'.
Please note: These albums were not released consecutively and they are not the only ones that Lil Wayne has released in his career.

Whether this number one pick is predictable or not, it's for good reason. No record from his entire discography has more of his song staples, and no record cemented his legacy more than 'Tha Carter II' (2005).
Some of the hits include: 'Money on My Mind,' 'Fireman,' and 'Best Rapper Alive.'

Wayne's Carter series returned in 2008 with 'Tha Carter III,' after his collaborative release with Birdman titled 'Like Father, Like Son' two years prior.
Standout songs: A Milli, Mr. Carter, La La.

'Tha Carter' (2004) was Wayne's fourth solo LP release and the first of the 'Tha Carter' series. It was a success and remains appreciated among fans.
Standout songs include: 'This Is The Carter,' 'Go DJ,' 'Walk In.'

It's 2011, and Wayne is back after spending some time behind bars, and he is hungry. Remember "When it Waynes it pours." The album has a poppier production and presence than 'Tha Carter III' while still remaining Hip-Hop as a whole. It was quickly a commercial success but is generally less regarded than its predecessors by his hardcore fanbase.
Standout songs include: 6 Foot 7 Foot, Blunt Blowin, President Carter.

Maybe the fans' least favorite of the series, 'Tha Carter V' comes with a more heartfelt theme and personal stories than its predecessors. It is the longest album in running time of the series.
Standout songs: Let It All Work Out, Dope N***as, Uproar.
