2 The Band The Band was a Canadian-American roots rock group formed in 1965 . Which originally consisting of Rick Danko (bass guitar, double bass, fiddle, vocals), Levon Helm (drums, mandolin, guitar, vocals), Garth Hudson (keyboards, saxophones, trumpet), Richard Manuel (piano, drums, vocals) and Robbie Robertson (guitar, percussion, vocals) .

I knew that The Band exists, but I didn't include it in the list on purpose because of the history of the name (formerly labelled as Bob Dylan and The Band)

5 RED Red is an American Christian alternative metal/alternative rock band from Nashville, Tennessee. The band was formed in 2002 by brothers Anthony Armstrong (guitarist) and Randy Armstrong (bassist), along with lead vocalist Michael Barnes.

I added this item after creating the list (together with The The). Names with colors usually turn out good (see the list of Best Bands with Colorful Names). But it's already strange that the name consists of one adjective. One-word names are usually nouns.

This is much better than what they were going to be called.

It may not be the most creative band name in the universe, but it's way better and more creative than their original name: Björn & Benny, Agnetha & Anni-Frid.

I think there's actually supposed to be a meaning behind this one. Something about using their music as a "tool" to achieve some higher mental state. I think they came up with the meaning after the name.

13 Anal C*** Anal C*** was an American grindcore band founded by vocalist Seth Putnam in 1988 in Newton, Massachusetts. The band is known for their highly offensive lyrics which included themes of misogyny, homophobia, racism, Nazism, antisemitism, and schadenfreude (ridicule of the unfortunate). Their music has been received negatively by critics, which the band stated that their music was intentionally bad, just to get negative reviews. Anal C*** ended when Seth Putnam died from a heart attack in 2011.
