Top 10 Bands with the Least Creative Names

The Top Ten
1 The The The The are an English post-punk band. They have been active in various forms since 1979, with singer/songwriter Matt Johnson being the only constant band member.

Call me crazy, but I think this is actually creative. You have to be creative to consider "The The" as a band name, because nobody'd consider it as a title, so there is some creativity in "The The". It's so uncreative that it's creative.

You actually have to be very creative to come up with a so uncreative name.

No. This is the best band name ever. *sarcasm*

Even The Band sounds better.

2 The Band The Band was a Canadian-American roots rock group formed in 1965 . Which originally consisting of Rick Danko (bass guitar, double bass, fiddle, vocals), Levon Helm (drums, mandolin, guitar, vocals), Garth Hudson (keyboards, saxophones, trumpet), Richard Manuel (piano, drums, vocals) and Robbie Robertson more.

I knew that The Band exists, but I didn't include it in the list on purpose because of the history of the name (formerly labelled as Bob Dylan and The Band)

My teacher likes this.

3 fun. Fun is an American indie pop band based in New York City. It was formed by Nate Ruess, former lead singer of The Format, with Andrew Dost of Anathallo and Jack Antonoff of Steel Train.
4 Trio

How many members are there? Perhaps we'll never know.

5 Death Death was an American death metal band formed in 1983 by Chuck Schuldiner. Death is considered to be one of the most influential bands in heavy metal and a pioneering force in death metal. Its debut album, Scream Bloody Gore, has been widely regarded as the first death metal record, while the band's more.

Death is a very suitable name for a pioneering death metal band. In the context of the emerging death metal scene in the 80s it was a great name.

6 The Animals The Animals were an English band of the 1960s, formed in Newcastle upon Tyne, during the early part of the decade.

What's wrong with "The Animals"? It was meant to reflect the raw nature of their live performances.

7 MAGIC! Magic!, originally stylized as MAGIC!, is a Canadian reggae fusion band based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
8 Dave, Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich

Oh no! They forgot to mention me!

9 The Kids

Punk band from Belgium.

10 Anal C*** Anal C*** was an American grindcore band founded by vocalist Seth Putnam in 1988 in Newton, Massachusetts. The band is known for their highly offensive lyrics which included themes of misogyny, homophobia, racism, Nazism, antisemitism, and schadenfreude (ridicule of the unfortunate). Their music has more.

It just sounds stupid.

The Contenders
11 RED Red is an American christian alternative rock/alternative metal band from Nashville, Tennessee, formed in 2002 by brothers guitarist Anthony Armstrong and bassist Randy Armstrong, with lead vocalist Michael Barnes.

I added this item after creating the list (together with The The). Names with colors usually turn out good (see the list of Best Bands with Colorful Names). But it's already strange that the name consists of one adjective. One-word names are usually nouns.

They're still fighting the blues.

12 KISS Kiss is an American hard rock band formed in New York City in January 1973 by Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons and the band's original manager, Lew Linet.
13 ABBA ABBA are a Swedish pop group formed in Stockholm in 1972 by members Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad.

This is much better than what they were going to be called.

It may not be the most creative band name in the universe, but it's way better and more creative than their original name: Björn & Benny, Agnetha & Anni-Frid.

14 Tool Tool is an American alternative metal/progressive metal band, that was formed in 1990. more.

I think there's actually supposed to be a meaning behind this one. Something about using their music as a "tool" to achieve some higher mental state. I think they came up with the meaning after the name.

15 The Doors The Doors were an American rock band formed in 1965 in Los Angeles, with vocalist Jim Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robby Krieger and drummer John Densmore.

Shortening of "The Doors of Perception"..

16 Helloween Helloween is a German power metal band founded in 1984 in Hamburg, Northern Germany. The band is a pioneering force in the power metal genre, and their second and third studio albums, Keeper of the Seven Keys: Part I and Part II, are considered masterpieces of the genre.

Umm...I actually think this is among the most creative.

17 BTS BTS, also known as the Bangtan Boys, is a seven-member South Korean boy band formed in Seoul in 2013. RM is the leader and the other members are V, Jimin, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, and Jungkook
18 Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin was an English hard rock band formed in London in 1968 as the New Yardbirds. The group consisted of Robert Plant (Vocal), Jimmy Page (Guitar), John Paul Jones (Bass, Keyboard) and John Bonham (Drums) and was very much the child of Jimmy Page who even financed their first tour. He had tasted more.

It seems like the most famous bands are added to every list for no reason.

Actually, this is a great name...not something I could come up with!

What? This name is cool! Never would've thought of a name like that.

It's not uncreative.

19 Metallica Metallica is an American Heavy/Thrash Metal band formed in 1981 . The original lineup was James Hetfield (Vocalist and Rhythm guitarist), Dave Mustaine (Lead Guitar), Lars Ulrich (Drums), Ron McGovney (Bassist). The group came into mainstream from their Self-Titled album and the hit single "Enter Sandman". more.

Nothing against them but it's just a really uncreative name, literally named after the genre

20 The Who The Who is an English rock band formed in London, England in 1964. The most recognizable lineup was Roger Daltrey (lead vocals), Pete Townshend (guitar), John Entwistle (bass guitar), and Keith Moon (drums). They are best known for their live performances and hit songs Baba O'Riley, My Generation, and more.

The members include Billie Joe Armstrong (vocals and guitar), Mike Dirnt (bass), Tré Cool (drums) and Jason White (guitar) . Green Day are associated with punk rock, pop punk and alternative rock. Some of their more.

It actually is creative it came from a song released off of 39 smooth called Green Day

HIM means His Infernal Majesty. I would say it's somewhat creative.

23 Scorpions Scorpions are a German rock band formed in 1965 in Hanover by Rudolf Schenker. Since the band's inception, its musical style has ranged from hard rock to heavy metal.

I don't see a problem with creativity here.

24 Sick Puppies Sick Puppies is an Australian rock band, formed in 1997. Sick Puppies rose to prominence in 2006 when their song "All the Same" was uploaded along with a video to YouTube.

This name really is bad, but what's the problem with its creativity?

I think it's creative. It's another question if the name is good or not

Yeah. I'm not a big fan of this name either.

25 Maroon 5 Maroon 5 is an American pop/pop rock band that originated in Los Angeles, California. Before the current group was established, the original four members, Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael Mickey Madden and Ryan Dusick, formed a band known as Kara's Flowers in 1994, while they were still in high school.
