Top 10 Songs Where You Most Likely Heard a Cover Version Before the Original

This can happen a lot. You hear a cover of the song before the original song itself. Now I'm not saying that any of these covers are better than the original (some are and some aren't). What I mean is these are songs you most likely heard a cover of before hearing the original.
The Top Ten
1 All Along the Watchtower - Bob Dylan
2 I Love Rock 'n' Roll - The Arrows

You probably heard the Joan Jett version or if you are unlucky the Britney Spears Version ugh...

3 I Will Always Love You - Dolly Parton

For the longest time, I actually thought Whitney Houston's version was the original version of this song.

4 Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) - Eurythmics

Maybe this would be true in metal circles but in general I would have thought the original was much more famous.

Nope, definitely heard this version first. Didn't even know Manson covered it.

5 Cum On Feel the Noize - Slade
6 Dazed and Confused - Jake Holmes
7 Hallelujah - Leonard Cohen

Nope, heard the Cohen version first. Never heard the Buckley version until somebody said it was better, once I finally heard Buckley's, I thought it was very meh. Cohen wrote it, and knows how this song is really supposed to sound and feel.

8 Knockin' on Heaven's Door - Bob Dylan
9 Antisocial - Trust
10 Dream a Little Dream of Me - Ozzie Nelson & His Orchestra

I first heard Blind Guardian cover of 2007 while the original is of 1931...

The Contenders
11 Love Hurts - The Everly Brothers
12 Behind Blue Eyes - The Who

Nah, I heard the original first, and it still gets a fair amount of airplay on classic rock radio, so a lot of people are still discovering it from the original (thankfully).

If you are unlucky you probably heard the Awful Limp Bizkit cover

13 Without You - Badfinger

You've probably heard Mariah Carey's cover first, and might think that Harry Nilsson's version is the original.

I heard Harry's version first.

14 Girls Just Want to Have Fun - Robert Hazard

For the longest time, I never fully realized that Cyndi Lauper's version was a cover. It totally changes the song's meaning.

15 Hurt - Nine Inch Nails
16 The Wizard - Uriah Heep

I first heard the cover by Blind Guardian.

17 Twist and Shout - Topnotes
18 The Man Who Sold the World - David Bowie
19 The First Cut is the Deepest - Rod Stewart
20 Walking in the Air - Howard Blake

You propably have heard Nightwish's version first.
I didn't by the way, I saw the short animated movie this is from as a child, then years later again as a teenager. I didn't recall it being that depressingly sad.
But that was how I discovered Nightwish, by browsing this song.

21 You Spin Me Round (Like a Record) - Dead or Alive

Who covered this?

22 Turn the Page - Bob Seger

You probably heard the Metallica version first.

23 It's My Life - Talk Talk
24 Venus - Shocking Blue
25 The Sound of Silence - Simon & Garfunkel
