Top 10 Musical Genres that Most Need to Be Renamed

Only metalcore and nu-metal make sense on this list, since they contain music genres in the title they have little to do with. The other ones are basically just degrading the genres. The opinion on the genres shouldn't be part of their names.
Hardcore is not metal. Metal is classical inspired.
I agree because many bands in this genre don't sound simular
(Example Bullet For My Valentine sounds almost nothing like Trivium)
To Extreme Metal Because It's Basically More Metal Than Other Metal.

I always considered a lot of Nu Metal bands just Modern Rock. Basically anything Hard Rock-ish to me that was new was considered Modern Rock to me. Guess now that I'm more aware of subgenres I can see the differences but nah it's all Modern Rock.
What I know for sure is that the word "metal" must be removed from its name asap.
To not metal this is rock
Just call it Nu Rock!

To stuff with good drops.
Electro-noise.
To drunk cowboy country
Just say modern country
To Evil Unspeaken "Music".

I agree with Martin_Canine - again, a rock genre was mistakenly called "metal". Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Rammstein, etc., aren't metal. They are Industrial Rock.
And, no, this item isn't stupid - Industrial Metal is a fake subgenre because the bands called "Industrial Metal" don't actually play metal.
Strapping Young Lad are Death/Thrash Metal with industrial influences.
Fear Factory are Death and Groove Metal with industrial influences.
And this is very different from Marilyn Manson.
To stuff with guitars and keyboards or whatever
To Iron and Steel cause it's industrial.
Pop is a synonym of bubble gum music, which is not popular, but is a synonym of popular. what?!
To music that Metalhead hates
To Shaved Eyebrow Metal.
80's Glam Hard Rock

Call it "Hard Alternative", plain and simple. In addition, that used to be the original name before it was renamed "Alternative Metal".
Furthermore, bands normally labelled as Nu Metal and Post-Grunge can also fit into Hard Alternative very well. It is mostly derived from Alternative Rock with some Heavy Metal emphasis, though not enough to consider it a Metal song.
To Soda Can (because it usually has little-to-zero metal in it)
To "Post-Alternative"
To trash music. Blues sucks. Heavy Metal is the best.
To noisecore
To flunkcore
To Drunkcore, Wankcore, Crunkwhore...I despise this genre though.
To something like 'Music Worshipping the Unhallowed Throne of Satan.'
To satan worshipping noise (joke, chill)

Just a weird name
Should be called CRAP because we all know Country + Rap = Crap
Eh, modern rap doesn't sound a lot like normal rap. The genre as a whole can stay the same but we need more sub-genres like mumble-rap, trap-rap, hip-pop, thug rap, rap&b.
To blah blah blah blah gangster
To bar-spittin

Not sure about this one... though Grunge has Three different sounds
1st type is Alternative mixed with Punk (Nirvana)
2nd is Alternative mixed with Hard Rock (Pearl Jam)
3rd is Alternative mixed with Metal (Alice in Chains, Soundgarden Melvins)
To the genre that killed metal.
To 90's cool kids favorite music
To 'kool kidz choons'
People said that this music genre is oxymoron because "punk" is anti mainstreem but "pop" is mainstreem what do you think? I like this music genre

Little to do on reggae. It should rather follow the template of K-pop, J-pop and should be called L-pop instead.
To gangster rap, spell it right you silly boy
To wannabe cool rap

To Alternative Hard Rock because that's bascially what it is

To old stuff ig?

The list mostly includes bad genres with great genres in their name. Here's an example for the opposite.
This combination would become "Crap" music
To "Fred Durst makes my Ear Drums Burst! "
It'd look good changed to "Bluezz".
If ever I owned a Blues / Jazz Bar, I'd call it Misty's (or Miss T's) Bluezz Bar.
Jazz Trumpets...Look I Don't Listen to This That Much And Know Nothing About Jazz So Spank Me Now...

It's pretty removed from punk. It's generally guite nothing like punk. But many post genres are confusing.
