Musical Genres that Need to Be Renamed

The Top Ten Musical Genres that Need to Be Renamed

1 Metalcore

I find this list pretty dumb. We all know what these genres stand for, so why change a name? Even if "it's not metal", "more like poser", "more like crap", it still doesn't make sense. - JoLeKosovo

Only metalcore and nu-metal make sense on this list, since they contain music genres in the title they have little to do with. The other ones are basically just degrading the genres. The opinion on the genres shouldn't be part of their names. - Martin_Canine

Never mind the elitists. Soaking their pants fighting for "true metal". Professionals been playing metal for 50 years.

Hardcore is not metal. Metal is classical inspired.

2 Nu Metal

Just call it Nu Rock! - Userguy44

I always considered a lot of Nu Metal bands just Modern Rock. Basically anything Hard Rock-ish to me that was new was considered Modern Rock to me. Guess now that I'm more aware of subgenres I can see the differences but nah it's all Modern Rock. - cjWriter1997

What I know for sure is that the word "metal" must be removed from its name asap. - Metal_Treasure

He's just pointing out that the genre has nothing to do with metal. It fits more with the alternative rock inspired genres. - Martin_Canine

Call it "Hard Alternative", plain and simple. In addition, that used to be the original name before it was renamed "Alternative Metal".

Country and rap are 2 DIFFERENT things. 1 is awesome and funky while the other one is useless and has shtt like Cotton Eye No. Don't mix things that are completely opposite. what's next? Pop Metal? - AlphaQ

To Post-Cringe. - AlphaQ

To "Fred Durst makes my Ear Drums Burst! " - EliHbk

This combination would become "Crap" music - Britgirl

23 Blues-Jazz

Jazz Trumpets...Look I Don't Listen to This That Much And Know Nothing About Jazz So Spank Me Now... - AlphaQ
