After creating my list of "Top Ten Musicians Named Mick", I realized that Ian is also a frequently used name among musicians. Let's take a look.
The Top Ten
1 Ian Gillan Ian Gillan is an English singer and songwriter. He originally found success as the lead singer and lyricist for Deep Purple, and the original singer on the rock opera concept album Jesus Christ Superstar by Andrew Lloyd Webber, where Gillan had the leading role (Jesus Christ).

Yes, great vocal skills in his prime, and even later because his voice aged really well - he sounded very good in his 50s and 60s, and can still sing well in his 70s.

Lead singer of Deep Purple. This guy should be known around the world as a legend, because his vocal skills were amazing.

His voice in Child in time is amazing!

2 Ian Paice Ian Anderson Paice (born 29 June 1948) is an English musician, best known as the drummer of the English rock band Deep Purple. He has been the band's only constant member since its foundation.

The other Ian in Deep Purple. He too is an amazing musician and a very underrated drummer.

Yes, very underrated - he was very innovative and creative

3 Ian Anderson Ian Scott Anderson is a Scottish-born musician, singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist whom is best known for his work as the lead vocalist, flautist, and acoustic guitarist of British rock band Jethro Tull.

He's the frontman for Jethro Tull and also it's creative driving force.

4 Ian McLagan

The keyboard player for the Small Faces and Faces. I like his playing because he works to serve the song, rather than to let the song serve his piano playing.

5 Ian Curtis Ian Kevin Curtis (15 July 1956 – 18 May 1980) was an English musician and singer-songwriter. He is best known as the lead singer and lyricist of the post-punk band Joy Division. Curtis, who suffered from epilepsy and depression, killed himself on 18 May 1980 (at the age of 23), on the eve of Joy Division's first North American tour, resulting in the band's dissolution and the subsequent formation of New Order. Curtis was known for his bass-baritone voice, dance style, and songwriting filled with imagery of desolation, emptiness and alienation.

The lead singer and lyricist for Joy Division. Rest in peace.

6 Ian Hill

Bassist for Judas Priest. He has been in the band throughout its entire history.

7 Ian Hunter

Ian hunter also has a lengthy and notable solo career. One lp is among my all time favorites ' your never alone with a schizophrenic '. His recent material remains as solid as ever.

The lead singer for Mott the Hoople.

8 Ian Brown

Lead singer for The Stone Roses.

9 Ian Stewart

Originally the piano player for the Rolling Stones, he was demoted to road manager after manager Andrew Loog Oldham decided that six band members was too many. Despite this, he played piano (and sometimes organ) on most of their albums until his death, and the Stones considered him very influential in their decision-making process.

10 Ian Mosley

Ian Mosley is the drummer for Marillion. He has been with them since 1984.
