I heard about the news a few days ago. Roy was a very talented musician; he wasn't just a guitarist, he could also play banjo, mandolin, and fiddle really well. I know a bunch of country players personally who said that he was a big inspiration to convincing them to play guitar. RIP Roy! Another country legend gone.
