Nations Who Should Be Permanent Members of the UN Security Council
The United Nations was formed in 1945. The Security Council is the body of the UN charged with security and international peace issues. It is comprised of five permanent members, each of whom has a veto power. The five are the victors of World War II and for many years were the only five nations with the nuclear bomb: China, France, Russia, the United States of America, and the United Kingdom. Other nations rotate on the security council, but none of them have veto power.
