Top Ten NBA Players from the Michael Jordan Era

This one was really a lot of players from this era. It spans from 1984 to 2002. It includes players only from this era, so no LeBron James, Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, and more players like that. The people in this top ten are based off of Skill, Leadership, Winning Ability, and accomplishments within this era.
The Top Ten
1 Michael Jordan Michael Jeffrey Jordan, also known by his initials, MJ, is an American retired professional basketball player.

Here is where Jordan comes into play. I honestly think MJ is really overrated. I mean he was a great player and he is in the discussion for the Best Player Ever, but he played in a totally different era then some of the best players. Competition was different, rules were different, I could on and on about Jordan. Might just make a post about this.

2 Magic Johnson Earvin "Magic" Johnson Jr. is a retired American professional basketball player who played point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association for 13 seasons.

I'm going to get so much hate for this. I'm a little bias in this situation, but just look at some of the accomplishments he had. And imagine what he would be if he wouldn't have made some the dumb decisions he made.

3 Larry Bird Larry Joe Bird is an American retired professional basketball player who played for the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association. Bird is a 3x champ, 1x ROTY, 1x Finals MVP, 3x 3PT Contest winner, all with the Boston Celtics. (1979-1992)

Larry again like Magic a little bit bias. Bird was in my opinion the 3rd best player of All-time due to his elite skill and his ability to lead. Jordan had that ability just not on the same ability as a guy like Bird. Plus Bird was the best shooter ever.

Jordan's Bulls were swept twice in the playoffs verse Bird's Celtics.Bird is the GOAT.

4 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is an American retired professional basketball player who played 20 seasons in the National Basketball Association for the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers.

If this wasn't era restricted and it was all-time I would put Kareem above Jordan. He was old though during this era so that is why he is 4th on this list.

5 Hakeem Olajuwon Hakeem Abdul Olajuwon, formerly known as Akeem Olajuwon, is a Nigerian-American retired professional basketball player.

The Dream Shake came into effect in this era. He was beast and he won the title for his team the years Jordan was gone.

6 Clyde Drexler Clyde Austin "The Glide" Drexler is an American retired professional basketball player. During his career, he was a ten-time All-Star, and named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History.

I admire Clyde the Glide. He was one of the many players I tried to model my game after. He was also known as the Jordan of the West. I personally think they should've won that series with the Bulls.

7 Dominique Wilkins Jacques Dominique Wilkins is an American retired professional basketball player who primarily played for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association.

The Human Highlight started to destroy the league and really gave the Celtics a run for their money.

8 Isiah Thomas Isiah Lord Thomas III is an American former basketball player who played professionally for the Detroit Pistons in the National Basketball Association.

Jordan's rival. He led the Detroit Bad Boys to two rings.

The Bad Boys Piston

9 Shaquille O'Neal Shaquille Rashaun O'Neal, nicknamed Shaq, is a retired American professional basketball player who is currently an analyst on the television program Inside the NBA. He is known for his fun, friendly personality, and is one of the most beloved athletes of all time.

The Big Diesel was destroying with both the Magic and Lakers and he helped young Kobe

10 Kobe Bryant Kobe Bryant (1978 - 2020) was an American retired professional basketball player. He played his entire 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association. Kobe Bryant has won 5 NBA championships with the Lakers and was the all-time leading scorer in Lakers franchise history. He Retired in 2016. He died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California at age 41.

Kobe was kinda young during this era, but he was still a beast

The Contenders
11 Charles Barkley Charles Wade Barkley is an American retired professional basketball player and current analyst on the television program Inside the NBA.

One of the greatest power forwards ever

12 Alex English
13 David Robinson David Maurice Robinson is an American former professional basketball player, who played center for the San Antonio Spurs in the National Basketball Association for his entire career.

In my opinion one of the top 5 defensive centers of All-time.

Definitely top Ten Overall
