Ht's 2019 NFL Power Rankings: Week V

Well with on month in play how does things hold up for all 32 teams? Here is the week five Power Rankings presented by htoutlaws.

(Biggest Rise: +12 Chicago Bears, Biggest Fall: -12 Minnesota Vikings)

1 New England Patriots (4-0) -- No Change

Ladies and gentleman defense wins championships, and the Patriots just proved why they have the best defense in football. Eliminating Josh Allen and getting 4 interceptions to keep to perfection. Sloppy offense, but great balance is the success of The Patriots way. Now onward to rule the AFC as usual.

2 Kansas City Chiefs (4-0) -- No Change

Man of man this could of been a stunning loss, but thanks to the refs and N.Y giving Chiefs a free pass 6 points in the 3rd quarter. The biggest shock was seeing Patrick Mahomes have ZERO touchdowns. They still found a way to survive thanks to a lot of help towards the end of the game. Personally I don’t know if any team (not named the Patriots or Bears) could put that type of pressure on that hot offense being put out for nearly 60 minutes. They will make everyone forget that happened though when come back home to a beaten up Indy team.

3 Dallas Cowboys (3-1) -- No Change

I’m more surprised there not undefeated to be quite honest, it came down to a game of chess on defense, and somehow Cowboys offense got nowhere near 30 points. At least they lost a close game. They should rebound though when they come back home against a team they blew it even harder than they did.

4 Los Angeles Rams (3-1) -- No Change

Yikes you gave up 50+ points? This needs to be cleans up against the next two rivals otherwise the super bowl hangover might be starting to be in full effect.

5 New Orleans Saints (3-1) Up 8 ⬆️
Well I guess the voodoo curse in the superdome is alive and well. Without Drew Brees they have been 2-1 what exactly am I seeing here? Good luck trying to stop the next team if you can keep up with them that is.

6 Chicago Bears (3-1) Up 12 ⬆️

That Bears defense looks like its back to how they finished last season. Now the question is could they be better without Mitchell Trubisky?

7 Detroit Lions (2-1-1) Up 4 ⬆️

Despite the defeat, Lions managed to give Mahomes vast pressure making him throw the football early on most drives. The fact they got so close and to have not only one of Golladay’s touchdowns voided early in the 3rd quarter ended up costing them what could have been an amazing upset nobody expected. They played a very great game that frankly should of gone their way. The bye could not have come at a better time, especially for your next opponent who has a tough path coming up.

8 Green Bay Packers (3-1) Down 3 ⬇️

The defense who was playing great the first three games can’t even figure out this hurt sloppy offense whom you gave up 200 yards of rushing offense to. The worst part is you had a chance to exit out with the victory if you had given the football to Aaron Jones TWICE! Ugh… Green Bay is gonna be hurting for trouble when they take on Dallas and Detroit.

9 Houston Texans (2-2) Down 3 ⬇️

Huh, wow you lost to a backup quarterback huh? You played hard, but not enough to squeak the win apparently. The offensive line is starting to show exactly what I was worried about. Lookout thought as Jacksonville is right on your tail now.

10 Cleveland Browns (2-2) Up 9 ⬆️

If there was a game that had to have been a must win it was this one for Cleveland. Not only did they win, but put up 40 to guarantee a statement win over Baltimore who looked like the ridiculous favorite.

11 Baltimore Ravens (2-2) Down 4 ⬇️

Well your gonna fight with Cleveland for sure in the AFC North, but time will tell if you get in or not with your awful rushing defensive unit giving up three touchdowns to Nick Chubb. That’s 6 touchdowns you have given up this needs to change.

12 San Francisco 49ers (3-0) -- No Change

Well rested from the bye, and now they go against another rising team in Cleveland be ready niner defense. Baker is known to turn the ball over this season.

13 Buffalo Bills (3-1) Down 3 ⬇️

First of all why the corner who nailed Josh Allen gets off scot-free is unbelievable. Second this could cost Buffalo a few games here where they need him most in the passing game. Granted he was bad in this game, but Barkley didn’t do hardly that much better.

14 Seattle Seahawks (3-1) -- No Change

I mean yeah you beat Arizona who look awful at this point. If you can clean up on that football you can beat the Rams who you have historically had major issues with winning against. A split with them is a big break if they can get that.

15 Los Angeles Chargers (2-2) -- No Change

I mean yeah you beat Miami who look awful at this point. Come to think of it you’ll at least have a team who will lose in a more competitive showing in your own division knowing you get Melvin Gordon back.

16 Philadelphia Eagles (2-2) -- No Change

Sure you won with fewer weapons on the field, running game was big. You were very fortunate to get a lucky break at the end with bad play calling on the part of Green Bay. Luckily for you Jets are a catwalk seeing Sam Darnold is in serious critical condition to even play once again.

17 Jacksonville Jaguars (2-2) -- No Change

What a turnaround for a team that was getting ready to give away their best player on the team, and just dominate Tennessee and have a great comeback display in mile high. The next three of four games look really winnable for the Jags.

18 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-2) Up 6 ⬆️

After a curse on the kicking game, Tampa Bay response on the road to the west coast, and whipped up a 55 pound burger on the heavy favorite Rams. My problem with Tampa bay though is they are the Jekyll and Hyde type team so far that need to break against the Saints if you want any chance to shock the world to take any notice of a turnaround.

19 Indianapolis Colts (2-2) Down 11 ⬇️

One thing I failed to notice is how beat up Colts were against Oakland. Well that played a major factor here with no Darius Leonard, T.Y. Hilton, and Marlon Mack taken outta the game the team was in major trouble. I can’t see them trying to fend off a Chiefs team trying to ondo what happened to them in the Lion's Den.

20 Tennessee Titans (2-2) -- No Change

What counts is they held Falcons to 10 points good job. My major concern is are they actually gonna keep it done consistently? Can’t blow a golden opportunity against a Josh Allen-less Bills team potentially.

21 Minnesota Vikings (2-2) Down 12 ⬇️

Let’s take a look at this deeper shall we. You beat what looks like a bad Falcons and Raiders crew. Then you go and face both the Packers and Bears fell flat by 5 and 10. The passing game has been very inconsistent, offensive line got out matched in those two losses. Kirk Cousins is the most fumbling quarterback in all of football that is a stat you don’t want to see if your a Vikings fan.

22 New York Giants (2-2) -- No Change

Well Daniel Jones is 2-0 so far in his starting debut. Team did what they had to do, but perhaps the Redskins do look like a team that’s in free fall waiting for Jay Gruden to be fired already. Meanwhile I think Pat Shurmer looks like a safe man for now.

23 Carolina Panthers (2-2) Up 3 ⬆️

Without Cam Newton the team seems to be better, and they got a huge saving win against Houston. Can they do that again to Jacksonville, and save Ron Rivera’s job for the time being?

24 Atlanta Falcons (1-3) Down 3 ⬇️

When you have a lack of execution on both sides of the football you have problems, and frankly Dan Quinn maybe a white ghost heading to ironically Houston.

25 Oakland Raiders (2-2) -- No Change

So Jon Gruden has beaten a bad Broncos team, and a beat up Colts team. Now you enter a pretty difficult 4 game gauntlet in October good luck getting any of those wins your gonna need it. No more Vontaze Burifct to have nasty hits to people like you pulled on Jack Doyle.

26 Pittsburgh Steelers (1-3) Up 2 ⬆️ Congratulations you won a game, but the bad news is for what reason when your team ain't convincing anybody.

27 Denver Broncos (0-4) -- No Change

At least of those winless teams, Denver is trying to be competitive. Honestly though I do not think they’ll get that many wins if they can’t win the close games like they have fallen to be. I wish they played the Dolphins for the sake of sympathy. What really stings is now you lose Bradley Chubb for the season and now your defense seems to have a serious weakness.

28 Cincinnati Bengals (0-4) Up 1 ⬆️

A very putrid performance (minus Joe Mixon), now come back to reality and compete for the #1 pick just admit your not that good, and do us all a favor get better by restarting more willingly.

29 Arizona Cardinals (0-3-1) Up 1 ⬆️

The more and more I stare at the tie it reminds me of that tie the Lions took the first game was really a secret loss knowing this team still can’t win a game yet. You know what though that will change against the Bengals somebody has to win between these two awful teams to even watch.

30 Washington Redskins (0-4) Down 7 ⬇️

Well seeing this season is already lost with the Giants now beating you its safe to say Jay Gruden is a goner the question is when will that happen?

31 New York Jets (0-3) -- No Change

The more and more bad the diagnosis gets for Sam Darnold of this deadly Mono. The more your season is going to quickly end knowing your next three opponents are all chasing for the playoffs and by than your 0-7 at that point compete with Miami for the tank bowl it won’t hurt.

32 Miami Dolphins (0-3) -- No Change
You know what? Call me crazy, but with this bye could help the Dolphins actually play better and actually win a game. The likes include Redskins, and Jets as those big possibilities.
