Best NFL Quarterbacks Going Into the 2019 Season

The Top Ten
1 Patrick Mahomes Patrick Lavon Mahomes II (born September 17, 1995) is an American football player who is currently a quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League.

Who else would be better at #1? The reigning MVP will probably continue to shine at the quarterback position in 2019. With him, the Chiefs have every opportunity to make the playoffs. He’s the most talented quarterback in the NFL right now.

I totally agree with this. Mahomes is possibly the most talented quarterback I've seen in a long time.

With Tyreek Hill gone it will be difficult but getting 50 TouchDowns is insane.

2 Drew Brees Drew Christopher Brees is an American football quarterback for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League. He is the only player to have back to back to back 5,000 yards in three seasons straight. Brees also has the all time best completion percentage with 66.95%.

Time is running out for Brees and the Saints. Even still he’s playing as good as anyone and can get the Saints to the big game. It’s just a matter of not getting bad luck in the playoffs. I kinda hope he gets another ring before he rides off into the sunset

If Patrick Mahomes didn’t break out in 2018, you could argue that Drew Brees would have won MVP. He had an MVP caliber season, and almost dethroned the Rams twice in the NFC. He is the player that gives the Saints the best chance at winning the Super Bowl. He’s done it once. Can he do it again?

3 Tom Brady Thomas Edward Patrick Brady, Jr., is a retired American football quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League. Brady is known for being the only quarterback in history to win 7 Super Bowls, and was often considered one of the best quarterbacks of all time. Brady was also frequently considered to be the biggest steal in NFL history as a late 6th round pick. He had previously played for the New England Patriots from 2000 to 2019.

Goat all other answers don't even desrerve contemplation, it's embarassing that he is behind brees here.

This man proves that age is just a state of mind

Despite not playing as well as usual in 2018, Tom Brady continues to defy time itself and keep winning. He’s one of the NFL’s oldest players, yet he can still play well consistently. Maybe he can shoot for a 7th Super Bowl ring in 2019.

4 Aaron Rodgers Aaron Charles Rodgers is an American football quarterback for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League.

No no I like the packers the way they are please stay mediocre so the Vikings can pretend to be good and get a wild card season then lose in the first round in style

By his standards, 2018 was a down year. Despite that, he still set an NFL record and made another pro bowl. Rodgers is still an amazing quarterback, and with a new head coach to revitalize the Packers’ offense, look out NFL.

5 Russell Wilson Russell Carrington Wilson is an American football quarterback for the Denver Broncos, and formerly for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League.

Wilson pretty much singlehandedly carried a talent deprived Seahawks team to the playoffs in 2018. That is how good he is. He can make big plays when they’re needed the most, and can take over games. Now with even less to work with, can he finally get that elusive MVP award in 2019?

Sadly for Wilson his whole team is crumbling around him and I fear not even he can overcome

6 Matt Ryan Matthew Thomas "Matt" Ryan, nicknamed "Matty Ice," is an American football quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League.

Ryan had a great but overlooked year in 2018, probably because the Falcons went 7-9. He was snubbed of the pro bowl, and was overshadowed by Patrick Mahomes and Drew Brees. Perhaps he and Julio Jones can lift this Falcons squad over the top in 2019.

7 Philip Rivers Philip Michael Rivers is a former American football quarterback. He played for the San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers from 2004 to 2019 and for the Indianapolis Colts in the 2020 season. Rivers was drafted fourth overall by the New York Giants in the 2004 NFL Draft before being traded to the San Diego Chargers for Eli Manning that same night.

One of the most underrated quarterbacks in the league. Things might finally be aligning in his favor for once

Despite getting older, Rivers is still playing at a high level, and on one of the NFL’s best teams. He’s been overshadowed by Eli Manning and Ben Roethlisberger over the years, and I think 2019 will be an MVP caliber season for him.

That picture though!

8 Andrew Luck Andrew Austen Luck is a former American football quarterback who played his entire career for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League.

It seemed like his NFL career was dead in the water a few years ago but now he’s back and better than ever. The Colts have assembled a nice core surrounding him with weapons and protection. Beware of this man this season

The colts may of killed him but in my opinion if he was anywhere but the colts he would be just as good as Peyton Manning

The NFL’s comeback player of the year may be injury prone, but when he’s on the field, you better watch out. He can shred up defenses, and now that he has more talent at receiver, I expect him to wreck havoc in 2019.

9 Jared Goff Jared Thomas Goff is an American football quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League. He played college football at California, and was selected by the Rams with the first overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Sure, he stopped playing at an elite level down the stretch and lost the Super Bowl, but Goff still has an amazing supporting cast and one of the NFL’s best head coaches. Goff has another opportunity in 2019 to help the Rams avoid a Super Bowl hangover and make a playoff run.

10 Deshaun Watson

Some would argue that guys like Ben Roethlisberger and Carson Wentz are better than Watson, but I think if Watson had an offensive line, then maybe he would be better. He has the talent to be one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks.

God sank he is the best

The Contenders
11 Baker Mayfield Baker Reagan Mayfield is an American football quarterback for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League.
12 Dak Prescott Rayne Dakota "Dak" Prescott is an American football quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League.
13 Matthew Stafford John Matthew Stafford is an American football quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League. The #1 overall pick in 2009 selected by The Detroit Lions, Stafford has a critical acclaim in his stats. Stafford is the fastest player in NFL history to reach 30,000 passing yards. In 2016, he also broke the record for most comebacks in a season with eight. Stafford maybe one of the better Lions Quarterbacks in recent memory, but his record on the road against winning teams may haunt him with the 5-46 record. He also one of two veteran active quarterbacks to have never won a playoff game the other being Andy Dalton. In 2021, he was traded to the Los Angeles Rams.

He's the best what so ever

14 Ben Roethlisberger Benjamin Todd Roethlisberger, Sr., nicknamed Big Ben, is an American football quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League.
15 Josh Allen

Bills mafia where you at

16 Dwayne Haskins
17 Kyler Murray Kyler Cole Murray is an American football quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League.
18 Marcus Mariota Marcus Ardel Tafuna Taulauniu Mariota is an American football quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League.
19 Jimmy Garoppolo

Just please stay healthy...
He has look great so far in OTAs though

20 Joe Flacco Joseph Vincent Flacco is an American football quarterback for the New York Jets of the National Football League.

Actually I wouldn’t mind seeing Flacco win the Super Bowl I am now starting to respect him after taking hits by the media calling him a bad team mate because he refuses to mentor his replacement no one wants to hand over there job unless you are Case Keenum

21 Nick Foles Nicholas Edward Foles is an American football quarterback for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League. He was named MVP of Super Bowl LII.

But only in the playoffs

22 Mitchell Trubisky
23 Lamar Jackson
24 Sam Darnold Samuel Richard Darnold is an American football quarterback for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League.
25 Eli Manning Elisha Nelson "Eli" Manning is a former American football quarterback who played his entire career for the New York Giants of the National Football League. He is the younger brother of former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning.
