Top 10 Best Non Disney Animated Movie Sequelsegnomac Disney isn't the only one that can make a decent animated sequel several other animated movies not by the Disney company like Dream works have managed to make its fair share of really good sequels.
The Top Ten
How to Train Your Dragon 2 unlike a lot of animated sequels that just rehash the same plot from the first or last movie actually expands on the story as Hiccup and his tribe find themselves against Drago a dragon hunter who looks to take over the world using a dragon army and Hiccup reunites with his long lost mother who was presumed dead is a dragon rescuer which explains why Hiccup was able to train dragons. - egnomac
This movie unlike a lot of animated sequels is one of a few which in my opinion tops the first film. I loved the bond they showed not just between Hiccup and Toothless but also between all the other characters too. It brought tears, smiles and whoops of joy!
I've never been engaged so much in what goes on in a film as much as this.
Brilliant in all areas!
This has to be the best animated movie. I'll always love this movie, even when I'm old. Brilliant, extraordinary, awesome, AMAZING! I encourage people who hasn't watched this great movie to watch it.
It was one of those movies that I’d watch once. I absolutely hate when characters that you’ve known for so long die. And the movie has a long, flowy storyline. I think it was cool how Hiccup got to meet his mom and bond with her. I really enjoyed this movie! - NightJinxV 11 Comments
The first Shrek movie was good but the sequel was better furthering the story of Shrek and Fiona as they travel to the kingdom of Far Far Away to meet with Fiona's parents the King and Queen of FFA and of course Fiona's dad is not too happy especially since he had promised Fairy Godmother that Fiona would marry her son Prince Charmin what follows is a hilarious journey that introduces us to a new character Puss in Boots as Shrek attempts to change himself so he and Fiona be happy as Fairy Godmother fixes it so Fiona will end up with Prince Charmin. - egnomac
Although the third one will always be my favourite, this was almost about as good as that one, the colorful animation is amazing and the story was great - darthvadern
It surely got a good story, just lacking some good action to me. - tridem
It's good, but the others in the trilogy were better in my opinion, this one just felt uncolorful to me although it's still great - darthvadern
A good sequel to a very underrated movie as the Rugrats gang go to Paris with their parents to Euro Reptar Land so Tommy's dad can repair one of his inventions, a lot of the movie is more focused on Chuckie who wants a new mom which is jeopardized when Coco LaBouche attempt to marry Chuckie's dad with Angelica's help so her boss will promote her. - egnomac
No Pokemon movie gets over a 6/10 for me.Thankfully, this is a 6/10, so I'll tolerate its placement. - DapperPickle
This is probably one of the worst in my opinion - it's unfunny, predictable, the character design is atrocious and the main plot point is about minions, and minions are not very good. - DapperPickle
A great sequel and a great movie overall and this was better than the original too (unpopular opinion, I know) - darthvadern
Kiddos here love the minions so they got very much excited when this sequel is about to show in cinemas. - tridem
A good movie and funny movie. - NightJinxV 1 Comment
I say this in theaters.
It has a place in my heart to this day - UltraSandStorm
Good movie, bad name.
I think this is the worst movie in the trilogy
In my opinion the best of the trilogy - darthvadern
The first Pokemon movie was hit or miss the sequel Pokemon the movie 2000: The Power of One was a pretty good follow up as Ash is chosen by destiny to reclaim 3 glass balls to help restore balance after a greedy collector tries to capture the 3 legendary Pokemon Zapados, Moltress and Articuno in order to summon Lugia and try to capture it, and I loved seeing Misty getting jealous around Melody especially when she kisses Ash which really ticked her off then seeing the two reconcile their differences as Misty chooses to go save Ash and states that Ash is never alone because he has her
she even risked her own life to save Ash from drowning. - egnomac
Eh, this was pretty bad and the worst of the trilogy in my opinion - darthvadern
The Meltdown was okay Dawn of the Dinosaurs was a pretty good sequel in its own right as a mamma T-Rex kidnaps Sid who took her baby's as Manny and the others go after him while Ellie is getting ready to give birth to her and Manny's child Simon Pegg really steals the show as the very awkward and wacky guide. - egnomac
I actually really liked this one. - NightJinx
Surely there are better movies than this mediocre film. - DapperPickle
Dinos, enough said - darthvadern
Please do not say that I am ruiing and trolling the lsit, because I'm not trying too, but I love this movie, it was also the inspiration to the mobile game Ice Age Adventures (which I consider to be awesomne) - darthvadern
In my unpopular opinion this is the greatest movie sequel of all time and the second greatest animated movie of all time (Hotel Transylvania is my favourite), the villian Balthazar Bratt is such an iconic and developed character that I wanted him to win in the movie honestly, and that says a lot - darthvadern
Although the Madagascar trilogy is extremly overrated, this one takes the slice as the best one, it's somewhat entertaining, the story is very good and the ending is awesomne, however, this movie contains a horrible dance move in the beggining I'm not going to say, but that was horrible - darthvadern
I thought the villians were amazing becase they were so colorful (Maelstrom in particular) - darthvadern
Unpopular opinion: This was better than the second one, most of the cons from the second one are either removed or fixed which is a good thing, and it's so colorful and it has become somewhat nostalgic for me. I still think the first one is the best - darthvadern
It's amazing, better than most of these bad CGI animated messes. - DapperPickle
Nope - darthvadern
The best shrek movie - darthvadern
Ratatoing is a piece of trash. I mean look at the animation! The songs are also very bad and causes ear bleeding and not the good one you get from memes. Also its not a sequel to Ratatouille its just some dumb brazilian pile of dump.
The sequel to ratatouille, and ratatoing is the best sequel there is.
First of all its not even a sequel and second this movie was garbage. - egnomac
This movie was amazing! The animation was beautiful! And don’t get me started on the story; it’s incredible! - SilverstreamSucksV 1 Comment
