Top 10 Best Non-Disney Cartoons

Gravity Falls is my favorite cartoon of all time! But this is a list about the best non-Disney cartoons! So Gravity Falls can't be put on this list! Same goes for Star vs the Forces of Evil even though that show is also awesome!
The Top Ten
1 Avatar: The Last Airbender Avatar: The Last Airbender is an American animated television series that aired for three seasons on Nickelodeon from 2005 to 2008. Avatar: The Last Airbender is set in an Asiatic-like world in which some people are able to manipulate the classical elements by use of psychokinetic variants of Chinese ...read more.

This was the best show Nickelodeon ever had! I was actually quite surprised that this was a Nickelodeon show! It has such a dark tone and has more of a story! It's about an airbender known as the Avatar who meets two siblings and travel to different areas while being tracked down by the fire nation. Along the way, Aang attempts to master all of the four elements. Air, water, earth, and fire. This show is amazing! Absolutely phenomenal! This is a perfect example of a good kids show! It has serious moments but doesn't take itself too seriously. It gives us some humorous moments but still stays focused. There is so much action and so much drama and the animation is gorgeous! We need more cartoons like this and not like Breadwinners! Avatar: The Last Airbender still one of my favorite T.V. shows to this day! An absolute masterpiece! As for the Shyamalan film... well... let's just pretend that movie doesn't exist.

Water. Earth. Fire. Air. Long ago, these four nations lived in harmony. Then everything changed when the fire nation attacked. Only the avatar, master of all four elements could stop them. But when the world needed him most, he vanished. One hundred years past and then my brother and I discovered the new avatar, an airbender named Aang and although his airbending skills were great, he has a lot to learn before he's ready to save anyone. But I believe, Aang can save the world. *dramatic music* Still love this show...

This show was so awesome, that Nickelodeon attracted more adults than 7-year olds.

One of the best cartoons I've ever seen, and the best show ever on NIckelodeon!

2 SpongeBob SquarePants SpongeBob SquarePants is an American animated television series created by marine biologist and animator the late Stephen Hillenburg for Nickelodeon. SpongeBob is currently the most popular show on Nickelodeon, as well as the longest running show, running for 23 years, and is beginning its 13th season. The show revolves around a sea sponge called SpongeBob SquarePants and his adventures under the sea. The show is considered to be one of the best Nickelodeon and cartoon shows of all time.

Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? SpongeBob SquarePants! I've loved this show ever since I was little! It's what made Nickelodeon so popular! It has great characters and great humor! It's not just great for kids, it's also great for adults too! Parents enjoy watching it with their kids and getting a ton of laughs from it! I don't think I need to explain any further. SpongeBob was such a fun show to watch! But then as more seasons came around it became one of the most cruel, annoying, and unwatchable cartoons ever! I can't believe they would ruin my childhood like that!

My favorite cartoon of all time, still holds up

It was good, until after the fifth season.

Spongebob is the best case closed

3 The Simpsons The Simpsons is an American animated sitcom created by Matt Groening that originally started on April 19, 1987 as shorts on The Tracey Ullman Show. It got its own series on December 17, 1989 and is still running as of 2023, making it the longest running animated sitcom. It is about a man named Homer Simpson and his family (wife Marge and children Bart, Lisa and Maggie and pets, Snowball II and Santa's Little Helper) going through a long series of misadventures.

The Simpsons is the longest running cartoon ever! I'm guessing. I honestly don't know if it is or not. This show is definitely a classic! And the movie is also very good! The Simpsons is almost at 600 episodes! That is incredible! They're even doing a 13 day marathon in November and they're gonna show all 600 episodes of the Simpsons! There are many great episodes and ones that aren't that great. I really like the Treehouse of Horror episodes! I look forward to them every Halloween! People say that this show has declined in quality over the years and they're kinda right. But I still enjoy the newer seasons to some extent. Although, I absolutely hated Lisa Goes Gaga! Worst Simpsons episode ever! But it's still better than any episode of Family Guy!

4 Adventure Time Adventure Time is an American animated television series created by Pendleton Ward for Cartoon Network. The series follows the adventures of a boy named Finn (voiced by Jeremy Shada) and his best friend and adoptive brother Jake (voiced by John DiMaggio)—a dog with the magical power to change shape and size at will. Finn and Jake live in the post-apocalyptic Land of Ooo. Throughout the show, they interact with the other main characters Princess Bubblegum (voiced by Hynden Walch), the Ice King (voiced by Tom Kenny), and Marceline the Vampire Queen (voiced by Olivia Olson). The series is based on a short produced for Nicktoons and Frederator Studios' animation incubator series Random! Cartoons. ...read more.

What time is it? Adventure Time! This show is pure genius! This is definitely more adult than most Cartoon Network shows! There are a lot of dark moments and it can get very serious! I really love the animation! There are so many beautiful images! It definitely makes me want to live in the Land of Ooo! I really like every single character in the show! Finn and Jake make such a great duo! Princess Bubblegum is a very helpful character! But my absolute favorite character in the show is Marceline! She is just so cool and can totally rock the guitar! The only problem I have with this show is that the plots get kind of confusing in later episodes. Sometimes I have trouble keeping up with what's going on but it is still very awesome! It's a shame this show is ending in 2018 but I'm glad it had a good run!

Adventure Time is my favorite T.V. show of all time. It premiered when I was 11 years old, and it completely blew me away. I had never seen a cartoon like that on T.V. before, and I got hooked immediately. I'm a senior in high school now and I've never stopped loving it. Very few shows have been able to balance comedy, action, and drama as seamlessly as Pen Ward's cartoon. Is it weird? Yes. There's no denying that. But there's so much more to this show than its quirkiness. It has everything. Surreal humor, intense drama, fantastic fight scenes, thought-provoking commentary, beautifully-written songs, and one of the greatest ensemble casts in any T.V. show EVER. This show can appeal to anyone. Kids can enjoy the wacky situations, settings, and characters while adults can appreciate the show's deep stories and messages. A five year old can love Adventure Time and later grow up and love it for an entirely different reason. This show WAS my childhood. I'm kind of glad that they'll be ...more

This show is awful in my opinion the reason why the characters are boring and genric, the story is the same thing, and t

I love adventure time

5 South Park South Park is an American adult animated sitcom created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone for the Comedy Central television network. The show is about four boys, who are Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, Eric Cartman, and Kenny McCormick, and their adventures in South Park, Colorado.

I bashed on the movie in one of my lists, but that doesn't mean that I don't like the show! It is very awesome and unlike Family Guy, it does offensive jokes correctly! When I first saw this show, I rolled my eyes. I thought it was going to be just another typical adult show that tries too hard to be funny. But I ended up really loving this show! It's about 4 kids who go to school. My favorite out of them is Eric Cartman because he is evil in such a hilarious way! He made Scott Tenorman eat his own parents! Each episode is very great and some of them even have very good morals. This show also tends to make fun of celebrities in literally every episode! Season 20 started a few weeks ago and the plot is that someone on Twitter is cyberbullying a bunch of girls. I'm not gonna say who it is in case you haven't started watching the season yet but it was such a huge surprise to me. And no, it's NOT Cartman! Very great show and I look forward to playing the game The Fractured But Whole!

This is the best adult cartoon and it's a masterpiece and art (the other kind) this is one of the best things in the multiverse also watchmojo knows nothing this is not to the subject but I want others to know that also have a nice day

6 Steven Universe Steven Universe is an American animated television series created by Rebecca Sugar for Cartoon Network. The show's based around a young boy by the name of Steven Universe, who is a hybrid of a gem and a human. He lives with his gem friends, Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl.

Coming from Cartoon Network, I had low expectations for this show but it turns out to be one of the most innocent cartoons on CN right now and I love it.

This an anime? You need help, that's late sign of blindness
Does the art style make it feel as anime? No

I love Steven Universe!

How is this not #1

7 The Amazing World of Gumball The Amazing World of Gumball is a British-Australian-German-American-Irish children's animated television series created by Ben Bocquelet for Cartoon Network.

This is by far the funniest cartoon that Cartoon Network has ever had! This is a show that just gets better and better with each season! Season 1 was just ok but in the later seasons, it started getting very good! The jokes in this show are genius and the animation is amazing! They use different styles of animation and even use photos taken by professional photographers as the background! Gumball and Darwin are such hilarious characters! Their father, Richard is dumb but funny! Anais is alright. And their mother, Nicole, is hot! Another character I really like is Gumball's girlfriend, Penny! She's a peanut who does cheerleading and is very smart. In the episode The Shell, we finally got to see what she looks like without the shell! She's some kind of shape shifting thing. Some fans were disappointed by this because they were hoping Penny was a deer inside of a shell! People even made drawings of it and posted it on Deviantart! I personally like her better as a magical shape shifting ...more

This show has creative characters, and clever jokes.

8 BoJack Horseman BoJack Horseman is an American adult animated sitcom created by Raphael Bob-Waksberg. The series stars Will Arnett as the title character, BoJack Horseman.

I am so glad I have Netflix! Otherwise I wouldn't be able to watch this masterpiece of a show! This has gotta be the best adult cartoon ever created! BoJack (voiced by Will Arnett) is a washed up actor who starred in a popular sitcom in the 90s. Ever since that show ended, his career has gone downhill. He now just lives in Hollywoo (this isn't a typo if you watch the show) trying to get his career back together. This show started out as just some generic comedy with not much of a plot, but as the episodes went on it started getting more and more interesting! BoJack is shown to be kind of a jerk, but as we see what his life is like and all the things he goes through, we start to relate to him and we start to care for him! This is such an emotional show! I just love how it keeps getting better with each season! This is by far one of the best shows on Netflix! It's not as good as Stranger Things but I really really love this show!

Heard hype. Watched it. Pretty great

9 The Loud House The Loud House is an American animated television series created by Chris Savino for Nickelodeon. The series revolves around the chaotic suburban everyday life of a boy named Lincoln Loud and his ten sisters, to which he survives as the middle child and only son in a large family of eleven children. Originally set to premier on January 2016, the series instead premiered on May 2, 2016, with the episodes Left in the Dark and Get the Message.

I did not think this show was gonna be so good! I should've started watching this show the first day it premiered! I recently started binge watching some episodes online and it is really good! It reminds me of what Nickelodeon used to be! Loud House is about a boy named Lincoln who lives in a house with 10 sisters. It's hard enough for me to live with one sister so I don't think I could handle 10. This cartoon is very funny and fast paced! The episodes have some very good morals! I also like every single character! My favorite character in the show is Leni. She's a blonde girl who likes fashion and likes looking beautiful and she's a complete idiot. But I love her so much! She's hilarious! I also really like Luan. She loves to tell jokes. She's also kind of cute. Loud House is definitely a great show! I also find it interesting how this show has a gay married couple.

What Nickelodeon fanboy put THIS on here?

It's great but not top ten worthy.

10 Tom and Jerry Tom and Jerry is an American animated series of comedy short films created in 1940 by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. Best known for its 161 theatrical short films by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, the series centers on a rivalry between the title characters Tom, a cat, and Jerry, a mouse. Many shorts also feature several recurring characters.

It is funny how jerry always gets away no matter what tom tries

I like tom and jerry

The Contenders
11 Invader Zim Invader Zim is an American animated television series created by Jhonen Vasquez for Nickelodeon. The series centers on an extraterrestrial named Zim from the planet Irk, and his mission to conquer Earth and enslave the human race along with his malfunctioning robot servant GIR.

Never in my life have I ever laughed this much throughout an entire cartoon! This show is dark, scary, and absolutely hilarious throughout! An alien named Zim is part of a group of other aliens know as the Irken race. His mission is to invade the planet Earth. Unfortunately he is unsuccessful at doing this because of Dib. The only human who is aware that Zim is an alien. There are some seriously screwed up things about this show! One episode involves Zim stealing everyone's organs and there's an episode where he rips someone's eyes out and replaces them with robot eyes! That is awesome! Also, I think we all know who the best character in the show is! Gir! Every time Gir appears in an episode, I crack up! Every line of dialogue that comes out of his mouth is so hilarious! I still go back and watch episodes of this show again and again! This is not like most other kids shows! I don't know why it was ever cancelled! They seriously need to bring this show back!

12 Regular Show Regular Show is an American animated television series created by J. G. Quintel for Cartoon Network that premiered on September 6, 2010. The series revolves around the lives of two friends, a blue jay named Mordecai and a raccoon named Rigby—both employed as groundskeepers at a local park.
13 Looney Tunes Looney Tunes is an American animated series of comedy short films produced by Warner Bros. from 1930 to 1969 during the golden age of American animation, alongside its sister series Merrie Melodies.

The original, uncut, unedited Looney Tunes are still the funniest and most entertaining cartoon shorts. Period.

14 Futurama Futurama is an American animated science fiction sitcom created by Matt Groening for the Fox Broadcasting Company.
15 Dragon Ball Z Dragon Ball Z is a Japanese anime television series produced by Toei Animation. Dragon Ball Z follows the adventures of Goku who, along with the Z Warriors, defends the Earth against evil. The action adventures are entertaining and reinforce the concept of good versus evil. Dragon Ball Z teaches valuable character virtues such as teamwork, loyalty, and trustworthiness.

Wait, Dbz is an anime but whatever this show is great and I highly recommend it!

16 Courage the Cowardly Dog Courage the Cowardly Dog is an American animated horror comedy television series created by John R. Dilworth for Cartoon Network as part of the network's Cartoon Cartoons block.
17 The Fairly OddParents The Fairly OddParents is an American animated television series created by Butch Hartman for Nickelodeon.
18 My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic is an animated children's television series based on the fourth incarnation of Hasbro's My Little Pony franchise. The show follows a studious unicorn (later an alicorn) pony named Twilight Sparkle (Tara Strong) and her friends Applejack (Ashleigh Ball), Rarity (Tabitha St. Germain), Fluttershy (Andrea Libman), Rainbow Dash (Ball), Pinkie Pie (Libman), and dragon assistant Spike (Cathy Weseluck). They travel on adventures and help others around Equestria while solving problems that arise in their own friendships.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic was a total surprise to me! It is not what I expected at all! When I started watching a few years ago, I thought it was going to be another girly show that only exists to sell toys. But it's more than that! In each episode, the characters learn valuable lessons. Well, except for one episode in which a character literally says she didn't learn anything! And that's another thing! The comedy is surprisingly good! There are also some very dark and emotional moments. In the Return of Harmony, the main 6 have to find the elements of harmony in order to defeat Discord. But unfortunately, Discord makes them become the opposite of who they are and it destroys their friendship. Pretty sad. By the way, there's a character in the show named Doctor Hooves. Very clever. Very amazing show. Also, is it wrong that I have a crush on Rarity?

I'm actually no longer a hater of this show because I can see why people like it so much. I'm still neutral with it because of my masculinity, though.

I just voted this since I actually know what it is. I mean I like it, I think I'm just growing out of it.

The newer seasons are just, "meh", but I would definitely recommend watching seasons 1-3!

19 Rugrats Rugrats is an American animated television series created by Arlene Klasky, Gábor Csupó and Paul Germain for Nickelodeon.

21 Teen Titans Teen Titans is an American animated television series created by Glen Murakami, based on the DC Comics characters of the same name.

I recently started getting into this show because I never really watched it when I was younger (I was mostly into Nick at the time) and because I hate TTG. I have to say that I'm heavily surprised at how good this cartoon is.

The best show ever made on cartoon network

Teen Titans Go Sucks!

22 Rocko's Modern Life Rocko's Modern Life is an American animated television series created by Joe Murray for Nickelodeon.
