Top 10 Best Non-Disney Movies of 2018

As 2018 comes to an end, let’s take a look at the best movies to come out during the year. Not including Disney movies. Which means no Infinity War.
The Top Ten
1 Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse

Into the Spider-Verse is the best Spider-Man movie ever! I didn’t think they could top Spider-Man 2, but they did. Everything about this movie works. Seeing Miles learning about his powers and seeing him train with the other dimension Spidey gives these characters so much development. The animation is beautiful. The comic book style fast paced animation really makes these action scenes look impressive. Even the humor works very well. Almost every joke made me laugh. I hope we get more Spider-Man movies like this.

I really want to see this movie so badly

This movie is awesome!

2 A Star is Born

No doubt about it. A Star is Born is an absolute masterpiece. This is one of my favorite films. Period. Which is crazy because I don’t really like Lady Gaga and this Bradley Cooper’s first time directing a film. They both did a great job, though. It shows the process of Ally becoming a huge star. It also does a great job of developing the relationship between her and Jack. These characters are so likeabke to the point where I was in tears at the end. The music is so beautiful. The performances are beautiful. The only nitpick I have is that certain scenes felt a little rushed, but it didn’t ruin the movie for me. It’s still one of the best.

3 Paddington 2

Since I live in America, this counts as a 2018 movie to me. I did not think Paddington 2 would end up becoming one of my favorite sequels of all time. I didn’t even expect it to be this amazing. But it actually is. I love how much emotion they manage to put into this. Paddington still tries to adapt to the city and everyone is so nice to happens. It’s honestly impossible to hate this bear. He’s just way too nice. While the ending is a little predictable, it was still heartwarming enough to make me tear up. First movie was great, but this is even better. It’s impressive that this movie has 100% on Rotten Tomatoes with over 200 reviews. This is a movie that’s just impossible to hate.

The original was excellent, apart from one joke that nearly ruined it for me, I hope this movie is better

4 Mission: Impossible - Fallout

Mission: Impossible - Fallout is one of the best action movies I’ve ever seen. The thing I love the most about this franchise is that it tries to use as many practical effects as possible instead of relying on CGI. Tom Cruise always does his own stunts. Here, we seen him jump out of a plane, climb under a flying helicopter, and other crazy stuff. I’m starting to think this guy isn’t human. Performances are really great. I especially like Henry Cavill. He was much better in this than in the DC films. This is a very fun movie. Easily better than Infinity War.

5 Won't You Be My Neighbor?

Mr. Rogers was a great man. He really made an impact on this world. He was really great with children and treats them with respect. This movie does a great job of showing that. I even got emotional at times while watching it. He will always be an icon.

6 Aquaman
7 Roma

A spectacular film and easily the best of the year

8 Creed II

Gonna be honest, I wasn’t a fan of the first Creed. However, Creed 2 was so amazing. This is a very great sequel. Not only is the acting really great, but the fights are very well choreographed. The way they’re shot makes it feel like we are part of the fights. I also thought the writing was a lot better in this one. I was very captivated throughout the entire film. Especially during the final fight. I didn’t think I was gonna like this movie, but it really surprised me.

9 Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald
10 Batman Ninja
The Contenders
11 First Man
12 Love, Simon

I was surprised by this film. It’s not the kind of movie that I would normally enjoy, but I found it to be very heartfelt and humorous. It helps that the actors give believable performances. It also has a really great message about love. I never read the novel, but they did a great job with this movie. I wish I saw it in a theater.

13 Scooby-Doo & Batman: The Brave and the Bold
14 Blackkklansman
15 Bad Times at the el Royale
16 A Quiet Place

Horror movies usually suck, but there are good ones out there. And A Quiet Place is one of them. This is the kind of thing I like to see in a horror movie. It has a lot of intensity and it keeps me wondering how the characters are gonna stay alive. Unlike most horror movies, it’s not predictable. The acting is really strong as well. This is easily Emily Blunt’s best performance of the year. She deserves awards for this. Not Mary Poppins Returns. The ending could’ve been better, but everything else is so great. I hope there will be a sequel.

17 Bohemian Rhapsody

Millions upon millions of people around the world LOVED this movie! As well as Rami Malek winning the Oscar for the Best Actor - Drama, the movie itself won some other Oscars. The film also won the Golden Globe for Best Movie 2018 and it's the highest grossing biopic of all time!

As a huge Queen fan, I was very excited for this movie. It definitely didn’t disappoint. I honestly don’t know why people don’t like it. The acting is on point and the emotion is strong. I get that people were expecting a more deep film, but I was still very entertained by it. Each actor gives everything they have to recreate these iconic members. It’s as if we are watching the real band on screen. Even the ending concert is very well shot. It really is a great film. Easily one of the most underrated films of the year.

Rami was really good in portraying Freddie. I'm glad he won an Academy Award.

18 Teen Titans Go! To the Movies
19 The Grinch
20 Hereditary
21 Deadpool 2

Deadpool 2 is a great sequel that lives up to the first one. I wouldn’t say it’s better or even as good as the first one, but it’s still a worthy sequel. It has a lot of funny moments as well as some great action. Ryan Reynolds is still amazing as Deadpool. I love his performance so much. Josh Brolin does a great job as Cable. He was way better as Thanos though. I really enjoy this movie. Although, I don’t know why they decided to come out with a PG-13 version. That seemed kind of unnecessary.

22 Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay
23 Isle of Dogs
24 Batman: Gotham by Gaslight
