Top Ten Non-Metal Songs that Newcomers Usually Think are Metal

The Top Ten
1 Helter Skelter - The Beatles

@christangrant yep, but not only the Beatles, nobody made Metal songs in the '60s...

The Beatles Never made a Metal Song and this song isn't one

2 Paranoid - Black Sabbath
3 Purple Haze - Jimi Hendrix

How could anyone think this is metal?

4 The Nile Song - Pink Floyd
5 In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida - Iron Butterfly
6 Summertime Blues - Blue Cheer
7 You Really Got Me - The Kinks
8 God of Thunder - Kiss

I won't lie... for the first time I thought it's metal, but now I know it is not...

9 Victim of Changes - Judas Priest

@Toucan no, there's way too much blues elements in this song to be metal... and it became popular in the mainstream, which isn't specific for true metal songs. And "traditional metal" songs doesn't sounds like this at all, for example the best known trad. metal band, Iron Maiden doesn't sounds like they were inspired by this song or by any Black Sabbath songs, traditional metal bands were inspired by Deep Purple and Rainbow and the other '70s JP songs which are metal like Tyrant, Dissident Aggressor, Stained Class, Exciter, Hell Bent for Leather... hard to believe but this song is actually hard rock and there are Sabbath influences in it, this is why people think it's metal. But if you think this is metal, I don't mind, anyway: as many people, as many opinions about metal music, nobody can convice each other...

I admit I used to think this song as a metal song. But that wasn't for the riffs. I knew the riffs were hard rock riffs. I used to think this as a metal song for the solo and vocals.

A great song with incredible vocals but I agree - it's not metal. It's a blues-based song, i.e. not metal.

Wait it's not metal! Oh come on!

I'm sure this is metal,I mean it has that awesome landslide riff and...oh come on!...I can undestand living after midnight ain't metal, but this is definitely metal...plus its "traditional metal " or classic metal...its metal period.
