Top 10 Best Non-Nickelodeon Cartoons of 2017

There are a lot of terrible cartoons that are currently airing right now. But forget those! Let’s talk about the best cartoons of 2017! Not including Nickelodeon. And by cartoons of 2017, I mean cartoons that have had new episodes air this year.
The Top Ten
1 Samurai Jack Samurai Jack is an American action-adventure chanbara animated series created by Genndy Tartakovsky for Cartoon Network. The series premiered on August 10, 2001, with a TV movie called The Premiere Movie, before ending in its fourth season on September 25, 2004, without concluding the story. A revival was produced twelve years later, giving the fifth and final season that concludes the series, which premiered on Adult Swim's Toonami on March 11, 2017.

Samurai Jack season 5 was phenomenal! It was an excellent way to end the series! The first 4 seasons of Samurai Jack were good, but I couldn’t really get into them as much as everyone else did. But season 5 exceeded my expectations! It has a much darker tone than what we’ve been used to! There is so much excellent story telling and so much emotion! This is the kind of ending that the show deserves! Genndy Tartakovsky has never let us down before! Except with Hotel Transylvania 2 and that Hotel Transylvania short they showed before the Emoji Movie. But other than those pieces of crap, Genndy is brilliant! The final season of Samurai Jack wasn’t perfect, but it was the best way to close the series! Such a strong and powerful ending! Absolutely amazing!

This is the best cartoon of 2017.

Best thing ever

2 BoJack Horseman BoJack Horseman is an American adult animated sitcom created by Raphael Bob-Waksberg. The series stars Will Arnett as the title character, BoJack Horseman.

It seems as though this show gets better and better with each season! Season 1 was good, season 2, was great, season 3, was awesome, and season 4 was phenomenal! This is still one of the most surprising shows I’ve ever seen! I thought it was just gonna be some typical Family Guy type of adult show that tries too hard to be funny and I thought I was gonna hate it. But it’s actually a very depressing and heartfelt cartoon! Season 4 pretty much deals with BoJack and his supposed daughter. I really like her by the way. Excellent character. You can really feel the connection between them. BoJack seems to care a lot about her. We even get some more development from BoJack’s mother! We get to see her past! It actually made me care for her more than I used to! Overall, season 4 was great! If you haven’t watched it yet, you should! It’s amazing! It’s another reason why this is the second best show on Netflix! Stranger Things is still the best and always will be the best!

Best Netflix original show ever

3 DuckTales (2017) DuckTales (2017) is an American animated television series that serves as a reboot of the original 1987 series. It features the adventures of Scrooge McDuck and his grandnephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie as they seek treasures and fight villains. The series has been lauded for its modern updates, deep character arcs, and layered storytelling. DuckTales has successfully attracted a new generation of viewers while also pleasing fans of the original show.

This is the best show on Disney.

Take notes, Cartoon Network! Because this is how you do a reboot! I was really upset when Gravity Falls ended. But it’s a good thing we have this to fill the void! It’s pretty much the closest thing we’ll get to another Gravity Falls! And I know it’s a reboot of a show that aired LONG before Gravity Falls, but still. This reboot definitely stays true to the original source material! There are even some things it does better than the original cartoon! Huey, Dewey, and Louie are each given their own personalities! They’re not one character in three bodies! It’s easier to tell them apart now! I mean, besides their clothing color. David Tennant was the perfect choice for Scrooge McDuck! I can’t exactly say he’s better than Alan Young, but he’s still brilliant! Webby is a great character! She kind of reminds me of Mabel! And I absolutely love how they changed Beakley! She’s not an ordinary granny! She’s actually very tough! And admittedly, she’s kind of hot. It ...more

Don't hate me, but I don't like this show.

I love this show! The fanbase is terrible though. During Summer, season 3 began with a two hour movie. It was technically multiple episodes put together to make one movie. But it was pretty awesome. Star goes back to Mewni to stop Toffee who took over Ludo’s body. In each segment of the movie, we get different stories. We even get to see young Moon and River! That’s probably my favorite moment in the movie! It’s so great seeing how Moon became queen and how Toffee lost his finger! This is why I like the show! Its excellent writing and its excellent stories as well as its excellent characters are what make it enjoyable! But unfortunately, most of the fanbase doesn’t seem to agree! All they care about is Starco! Starco makes me sick! That’s what the show should focus on! Plus, it’s the most cliché thing ever! And I can’t believe that the show is actually making Starco canon! The comments in my YouTube video of the Comic-Con panel are mostly about Starco! Daron Nefcy even ...more

5 The Amazing World of Gumball The Amazing World of Gumball is a British-Australian-German-American-Irish children's animated television series created by Ben Bocquelet for Cartoon Network.

This is a really funny show.

6 South Park South Park is an American adult animated sitcom created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone for the Comedy Central television network. The show is about four boys, who are Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, Eric Cartman, and Kenny McCormick, and their adventures in South Park, Colorado.

Well I can certainly tell you that season 21 is far better than season 20! But to be fair, season 20 sucked. The good thing about season 21 is that they are back to giving each episode their own story instead of stretching out one long story throughout an entire season! I get that they were trying something different, but it failed. There are still some references to that season in the new season. Cartman is still dating Heidi. Mr. Garrison is still president. Speaking of which, there was an episode that referenced Trump’s constant use of Twitter. And that leads to a really great message and a really great song! The best thing about season 21 is the fact that they have a Coon and Friends episode! Pretty much every Coon episode is great! The point is, season 21 is a major improvement over season 20! South Park is back to its original roots!

South park is an awesome show and this show is 100 percent awesome like cart man

The new season is decent.

7 Rick and Morty Rick and Morty is an American adult animated science fiction sitcom created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon for Adult Swim.

An awesome show.

Rick and Morty is a pretty good show. I wouldn’t say I like it as much as everyone else does. And I REALLY mean that! This show has the craziest fans ever! But it’s still pretty entertaining and funny. There are a lot of bad adult cartoons out there. I thought this was gonna be one of them to be honest. It didn’t really interest me. But it actually turned out to be one of the better adult cartoons! It has excellent humor as well as great characters! There are some very funny jokes here! Again, I don’t the show is AS great as everyone else says it is. I personally just think it’s good. Not amazing, not one of the best cartoons ever, but just simply good. I did watch some of the more recent episodes. They made me laugh. I’m glad that the show is very popular. I just wish that most of the fans weren’t that crazy.

8 Milo Murphy's Law Milo Murphy's Law is an American animated television series from the creators of Phineas and Ferb, Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh, which premiered on October 3, 2016 on Disney XD.

Milo Murphy’s Law is a great show! Weird Al Yankovic is awesome! Phineas and Ferb may have ended, but at least the creators of that show made this one! It’s not as good as Phineas and Ferb, but it’s still pretty great! I love the way they manage to come up with clever unfortunate events that happen due to Milo being bad luck. They manage to make the outcomes unpredictable. So you never know what’s gonna happen. You think one thing will happen, but then something else happens. It’s very fun to watch! Also, it was announced at Comic-Con that there is going to be a crossover with Phineas and Ferb. In fact, at the end of one of the episodes that aired this year, Dr. Doofenshmirtz made an appearance! Can’t wait to see what happens next!

So underrated.

9 Big Mouth Big Mouth is an American adult animated sitcom created by Nick Kroll, Andrew Goldberg, Mark Levin, and Jennifer Flackett featuring teens based on Kroll and Goldberg's upbringing in Westchester County, New York, with Kroll voicing his fictional self.
10 My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic is an animated children's television series based on the fourth incarnation of Hasbro's My Little Pony franchise. The show follows a studious unicorn (later an alicorn) pony named Twilight Sparkle (Tara Strong) and her friends Applejack (Ashleigh Ball), Rarity (Tabitha St. Germain), Fluttershy (Andrea Libman), Rainbow Dash (Ball), Pinkie Pie (Libman), and dragon assistant Spike (Cathy Weseluck). They travel on adventures and help others around Equestria while solving problems that arise in their own friendships.

The My Little Pony movie was absolutely stupid! But the show is still good! The new season definitely has some pretty good writing! The characters are all still very likeable. Especially Starlight Glimmer! She’s hot! Thorax returns with his new look that he got in the season 6 finale. And it’s revealed he has a brother. Also, the female dragon that Spike helped out last season. I don’t remember her name. But she returns. Also, the Cutie Mark Crusaders create a camp to help others get their cutie marks. So that’s nice. Pinkie Pie is still annoying though. This season is definitely a good one. And it’s definitely better than the movie! What was with the seaponies? Kristin Chenoweth’s character was basically a more likeable version of Ariel!

Yes, this show rocks.
