Top 10 Best Non-Pixar Movies of 2016

This was originally going to be best non-Disney Movies of 2016, but there were some very good Disney movies that I really wanted to talk about! So here are the best non-Pixar movies of 2016! Meaning no Finding Dory.

The Top Ten

1 Captain America: Civil War

Captain America: Civil War is one of the best comic book movies I have ever seen! The Captain America franchise definitely seems to get better with each movie! The first one was alright, the second one was awesome, and the third one was absolutely perfect! Some people might find this movie to be overrated but I don't! It deserves the amount of praise it gets! Seeing all these heroes together on the big screen really makes me excited for Infinity War! Black Panther was just awesome! I didn't know much about him before seeing this movie but he was a great character! We even got to see Spider-Man make his MCU debut! This is by far the best Spidey we've ever gotten! And of course there's the best movie scene of the entire year, the airport fight! That scene has some awesome action and great fight choreography! By far the best Marvel movie I have seen! - MegaSoulhero

Should be Number 1 - DCfnaf

2 Kubo and the Two Strings

Laika has done it again! Kubo and the Two Strings is an absolute masterpiece! This is one of my favorite animated movies! I've always had an interest in stop-motion films! The time and effort they put into those movies is really cool! The animation is absolutely stunning! The designs were very well done! The characters were very well developed and I ended up liking every single one of them! We actually care for them while they go on this journey to retrieve a suit of armor to defeat Kubo's grandfather. Every single moment in this film kept me invested! Sure the plot twist was predictable but the well developed characters, beautiful animation, and excellent storytelling make up for that! I really hope this wins the Oscar for best animated film! Oh who am I kidding? The Oscar will obviously go to a Disney film. Yet again. - MegaSoulhero

Ok, Non-Pixar? , Really? , there's only one pixar film in 2016 - VideoGamefan5

3 Deadpool

I wasn't really expecting much from Deadpool. In fact, I thought it was going to flop. But I was pleasantly surprised! This is a very hilarious and epic comic book movie! Everything about it is great! This was also the first movie I watched in a D-Box theater! This film has some excellent writing and cinematography! I really love how it doesn't try to be like other superhero movies! It took a huge risk and they did it well! Ryan Reynolds is perfect as Deadpool! He really brings the character to life! There wasn't a single moment in this film that I found to be uninteresting! Deadpool is an absolutely great superhero film and a definite must watch! But it's not for kids. Just to be clear. - MegaSoulhero

4 Zootopia

Zootopia is the best Disney animated film of 2016! I liked Moana but I found that film to be VERY overrated! I was absolutely surprised that I actually liked Zootopia! After watching the teaser trailer, I thought it was going to suck! I thought it was going to be a dumb typical animated film that uses animals to please the children. Then another trailer came out and it didn't exactly help, but it looked slightly better! I eventually saw the movie and I loved it! This is a very genius film! I even consider it as one of my favorite Disney films! Not only was it funny throughout, but it is very mature! This movie takes the fact that the characters are animals and actually does something unique with it! Unlike "Sing"! I also really like how this movie deals with racism. And the message that you could be what you want to be is a great message! Zootopia is a great movie for both kids and adults! - MegaSoulhero

5 Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
6 Doctor Strange

Doctor Stranger Things! Man, casting Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange was genius! I can't think of anyone else who would've been a better choice! Pretty much every character in this movie was very well casted! This may not be the best Marvel movie, but it's the most visually entertaining! This has some very amazing visual effects! It really makes it worth watching in 3D! My problem, however, is the humor. This movie has a lot of jokes! The are funny at times but at other times they are out of place. That scene where Strange had Kaecilius trapped for example! Some of the scenes involving the cape are pretty funny. It reminds me of the carpet from Aladdin. There are also quite a few plot holes but overall, I really enjoyed Doctor Strange! - MegaSoulhero

7 Arrival

Well I was absolutely blown away by this movie! This is a very awesome and smart sci-fi film! The pacing is great and the characters are great! The director of the film certainly did an excellent job! It is also very emotional! The last half hour of the movie really got me! I also really loved the special effects! This is certainly an Oscar-worthy movie! - MegaSoulhero

My question is, why do people hate this movie so much? It was great

8 The Nice Guys

After hearing some pretty positive things about this movie, I decided to check it out. I wanted to see why people thought this film was so great. And I must say, it definitely is a great movie! This is one of the best buddy comedies I have ever seen! Ryan Gosling and Russel Crowe gave perfect performances! This movie is very unpredictable! Which totally helps with humor! The writing in this film is very clever! This shows that a movie can be a comedy but also be very smart! I was not expecting to like this film but I'm glad I did! - MegaSoulhero

9 Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Rogue One is my 4th favorite Star Wars film! I was really excited to see this movie and it was great! This is the very first Star Wars anthology film. So it's not one of the main Star Wars films. This one is more of a war film! The action is very great! And it's really great seeing all these different planets that we've never seen before! Although, I felt like they're introductions were a little rushed. Also, this film's weakest point is the characters. I didn't really find them that interesting. They were pretty bland and forgettable and weren't given much development. Also, there were two motion capture human characters in the film and they didn't look very convincing. But the main reason why people went to see this movie was for Vader! That last scene was one of the best Star Wars moments of all time! Even though Darth Vader had very little screen time, but they certainly did him justice! Rogue One isn't as good as the Force Awakens, but it's still a great movie! - MegaSoulhero

Meh. This movie is overrated. People can still enjoy it but I didn't care for it. - DCfnaf

10 Suicide Squad

(Gets hit with rocks) Look, I know people really hate this film, but I really enjoyed it! With the exception of the Joker and Killer Croc, I really liked all of the characters! Each actor was really great at portraying their characters! Especially Will Smith as Deadshot and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn! I guess I can see why people hate this movie. A lot of it doesn't make sense and the editing is pretty bad. But I still had fun watching this movie! It's great seeing these bad guys work together and I hope we get to see more of them in the future! - MegaSoulhero

The Contenders

11 X-Men: Apocalypse

This is a movie that critics seem to hate. But I really liked it! I'm not saying it's as good as Days of Future Past, but I thought this movie was pretty awesome! The action was very cool and the characters were great! Especially Quicksilver! There's an entire scene where he's saving a bunch of people from an exploding building and I thought that was the best scene in the movie! And what made that scene better was that they played the song Sweet Dreams! The actors in this movie give very excellent performances! Although I really didn't like the Wolverine cameo. Like I said, it's not as good as the previous X-Men film but I still enjoyed it! - MegaSoulhero
