Best Non-Singles from Kelly Clarkson's Piece by Piece

The Top Ten

1 Run Run Run

I thought for sure this one would be a single. It's amazing! But I guess Kelly was just eager to finish her RCA contract and didn't feel like issuing any further singles from Piece by Piece after promoting the title track and securing a top ten hit. - theOpinionatedOne

I think this song is amazing!

2 I Had a Dream

This one stood out to me from the VERY START. Listen to its lyrics and you'll hear not a song, but a story. Kelly doesn't write all her own songs, but when she does, the result is rarely disappointing. - theOpinionatedOne

3 Someone

This song contains my favorite lyric from the album (and possibly my life mantra):
"So this is my apology
For saying all those $h¡tty things
I wish I didn't really mean
I'm sorry I'm not sorry" - theOpinionatedOne

4 Take You High

This one is quite remarkable from a structural standpoint. Its verses are rather typical as is the "pre-chorus" but it's very unique in that it lacks an actual chorus! It builds and builds into a crescendo and just when you think you know what'll happen, BAM! Epic dubstep-inspired drop cascades into a glorious, wordless hook consisting of chopped up, autotuned vocal samples. Instrumental wise, it doesn't get much better...strings and electronics together is like an eargasm to me! - theOpinionatedOne

5 Good Goes the Bye

Critics lauded this track for its retro, early 80's styled production, comparing it to the work of Eurythmics at that time. If you know anything about me, you know I love Eurythmics so it's easy to see why I love this song! - theOpinionatedOne

6 Second Wind

This probably has the album's second strongest vocal performance after "Invincible" as well as an infectious beat and chorus. Great song to play when you're down. - theOpinionatedOne

7 In the Blue

This took time for me to warm up to. But it's a fabulous indietronica/new wave ballad. The lyrics aren't quite the best we've heard from Kelly but I'll give her a pass on the lyrics for this song's innovative music. - theOpinionatedOne

8 Nostalgic

This is one that, at first, you'll call a standout track but it does get old sooner than others from the album. Still not a bad song, and again I'm surprised this was not a single. - theOpinionatedOne

9 Let Your Tears Fall

This is undeniably a good song, but when I hear it...I ask myself "Why is Kelly singing this? " In my ears, I hear Sia singing this because IT IS SO UNMISTAKABLY SIA! It almost sounds awkward coming from Kelly's mouth. I would have loved for this to be on This Is Acting, it might have been my favorite if it was on there. Maybe, hopefully, one day Sia does an album of "covers" of songs she wrote for other artists who did record them. - theOpinionatedOne

10 Bad Reputation

Another incredible vocal performance on this track. This is the Kelly that we heard on American Idol, doing soulful belts and such. But still, despite the vocal performance, this song lacks something. - theOpinionatedOne
