I can't believe Gojira wasn't here before. Gojira possesses a lot of technical skill... just look at their drummer! They also write very progressive music that changes a lot. For example, Flying Whales packs in over 10 movements in less than eight minutes. Considering the fact that one of those movements is about three minutes long, that is impressive. - ThatoneMetalhead

This band is not like any other band that has ever hit the metal scene. They are diverse as hell and I relate to damn near every Song that they have written. Me and my woman met, and grew bigger and better in our relationship and in our life in general because of badass/beautiful Music like MISS MAY I. Thank all of you for your masterpeices and for your time. My name is JACK YORK and I am a huge MISS MAY I follower.

55 Nevermore Nevermore Nevermore is an American progressive metal band from Seattle, Washington. Formed in 1991, they are known to incorporate elements from various styles such as power metal, modern hard rock, classic heavy metal and technical thrash metal. The band has been on hiatus since 2011, due to personal issues between more.

While the dominant styles in the movement are, unfortunately, metalcore and nu metal, Nevermore go out of their way to craft a unique blend of traditional metal, thrash and power metal that stands out from the same old sounds that this movement has spawned. No disrespect to bands like Pantera, but this band got it better than the rest.

56 Mushroomhead Mushroomhead Mushroomhead is an American Nu Metal band from Cleveland, Ohio. Formed in 1993 in the Cleveland Warehouse District, the band is known for their avant-garde sound which includes influence from heavy metal, art rock and electro-industrial and their imagery which features masks and costumes as well as more.

58 Attila Attila Attila is an American metalcore band from Atlanta, Georgia, formed in 2005. Frontman Chris Fronzak started the band in high school and, not wanting to use typical death metal terms, adopted the name from Attila the Hun, which he came across in a book.

These guys are a little newer to the scene, but they have brought their own brand and kick some serious ass.
