Top Ten Most Obscure Marvel Cinematic Universe Movies

Since it was a while I made a movie related list and since the 21st installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Captain Marvel is released on March 8th of 2019, and it's only a few days left until we're there, I thought I should make a Marvel Cinematic Universe related list. Since Captain Marvel is one of the most obscure marvel movies to date, at least in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I thought about making a list of the most obscure Marvel Cinematic Universe movies out there, so with that being said, let's get started. Keep in mind I will call the Marvel Cinematic Universe the "MCU" in the list just because it's easier to write.
The Top Ten
1 Captain Marvel

One of the worst critic reviewed Marvel movies since Age of Ultron as of right now the only movies with a worse score is the first 2 thor movies, Iron Man 2, Hulk, and Age of Ultron, but keeping an eye on this movie is fun the user rating is gradually going up and the reviews looks like it will stay about a middle of the road Marvel movie

Yes. It's not even released yet but wow it's obscure. Is it because the superhero has the name "Marvel" in it? I don't know but one thing for sure is that not a lot of people talk about it. Even Black Panther from 2018 has way more fans than this, despite both movies being released before an Avenger's movie. Me myself might not watch it either.

2 Thor: The Dark World

Yeah. This is one of the most obscure marvel movies out there. A sequel to Thor (2011), Thor: The Dark World was released in 2013. Both of these are among the least well-recieved MCU movies, but this one's a tad less liked than the first one. And same in my opinion. It might be my least favourite MCU movie to date so far. Due to the massive amount of boring athmosphere and story, this is one of the most forgettable movies in the MCU. Heck, it's even last on the "Top Ten Marvel Cinematic Universe Movies" list on this site which explains it all, doesn't it?

What do you mean by obscure? are you talking a movie that took from a comic book story that most comic book fans don't know or just a movie that was controversial and/or not as popular by the MCU fans

3 The Incredible Hulk

It's one of the earliest MCU movies out there and one of the most obscure as well. Me myself saw it last year at the end of 2018 and it was unexpectedly awesome for me. Hands down one of the most colourful movies in the series. I predicted to hate the movie because of the somewhat weird visuals but I ended up having a great time watching it. It's really underrated and obscure for the wrong reasons.

The problem with Hulk movies is that it is hard to make a movie that is purely focused on him interesting, you throw Hulk into another characters franchise and it will become instantly better, him on his own will be ok at best

4 Iron Man 2

Of the Iron Man trilogy, this one seems to be the least talked about. Heck some people think it's the worst of the trilogy and the worst MCU movie of all time. Frankly, I haven't seen any Iron Man movie at all, but it's quite obvious this is the most obscure one of the series. Most people talk about the first and third one but this one doesn't get nearly as much attention really.

This movie had a forgettable villain and a really ridiculous plot and didn't really have any special effects that wasn't already done in the first one not to say it is bad it has its moments, it is just extremely forgettable

5 Ant-Man

Ant-Man is one of the much lesser talked about Marvel superheroes, but in my opinion he is also one of the best superheroes. Not only does he have excellent superpowers and cool personality but his underrated movie is awesome for sure. It's one of the most exciting movies in the MCU alone and has excellent climax. It deserves more love to be honest in my opinion.

6 Doctor Strange

The very first MCU movie that I ever saw. Yeah. And it was actually back in 2017. I don't regret seeing it, it has awesome visuals and among one most powerful superheroes of all time. I mean Mr. Stephen Strange here can literally control time! I mean how cool is that? I really don't see why people overlook this movie so much because in my opinion this movie is among the best of the MCU.

7 Avenger's: Age of Ultron

Despite being an Avenger's movie, it's hands down one of the much lesser talked about ones overall. The first one, The Avenger's and Infinity War are among the most relevant MCU movies and Endgame is already having hype. Age of Ultron on the other hand is said to be one of the worst MCU movies of all time or one of the worse movies in the MCU and isn't much talked about. I've seen it and to be honest it's quite a bad and boring movie if I do say so myself.

This movie was just a rehash of the first Avengers movie and we all know how remakes of movies are especially ones that are disguised as a sequel, with the exception of Evil Dead 2 which was the perfect remake of the original

Yeah, no one really cared about this one. The first one and Infinity War are much more well known and better. This one... not so much.

8 Thor

While not as obscure as its sequel, it's another not so talked about much movie in the MCU. I myself thought it was a decent movie, because while it has major flaws, it's enjoyable. Heck, more enjoyable than its first sequel at least, that one had zero enjoyment in my honest opinion. However this is obscure for some understandable reasons in my opinion as it's a generally forgettable action movie.

Thor is kind of the Superman of the Marvel Universe, characters that seem invincible just aren't that interesting, it was only when the Hulk became a huge part in the third one that it really came watchable

9 Ant-Man and the Wasp Ant-Man is the name of several fictional superheroes appearing in books published by Marvel Comics. Created by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber and Jack Kirby, Ant-Man's first appearance was in Tales to Astonish #27. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he is portrayed by Paul Rudd.

Yeah I mean this one isn't necessarily popular. Both this and its predecessor are very underpraised movies. I've only seen the first one so far and this one seems cool as well. Not many people talk about it either, although I've read reviews on the movie

I really enjoyed this movie, it is the only movie on this list, beyond Captain Marvel that I haven't seen yet and can't say rather I liked it or not that I would own on DVD

10 Captain America: The First Avenger

Yeah I mean The Winter Solider and Civil War are among the most loved MCU movies of all time but does anyone remember its predecessor, the first installment, The First Avenger? No? Anyone? Ok. No surprise though but this isn't one of the most loved MCU movies necessarily. Me myself think The Winter Solider is the best, while Civil War was so boring, so I'd place this one in second place in terms of best Captain America movie. It's technically the "first" MCU movie chronologically

This right here is your basic action movie in superhero form, it has nothing to distinguish itself from other movies in the action genre, beyond instead of our main character being called John Wick we get the title Captain America

The Contenders
11 Iron Man 3

This one had its flaws with its villain and some of the special effects, but its ambitiousness with making a movie with a bunch of Iron Man suits and it getting into the wrong hands make it pretty good

This is one of my favorite MCU movies. It's certainly not as big as the first Iron Man, but I wouldn't call it obscure.

12 Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

This one's not that obscure really

13 Daredevil
14 The Trial of the Incredible Hulk

Made-for-television movie based off the 1978 Incredible Hulk series starring Lou Ferrigno. Considering that the series has been forgotten now, this movie would be pretty danged obscure. Oh, and by the way, there were actually two other movies based off the series. How many of you knew that, huh?

15 The Fantastic Four (1994)

Eleven years before Fox's first attempt at an FF movie, Roger Corman, the (in)famous B-movie maker, took a shot at it. The movie was unreleased, but it survived through bootlegs and was eventually uploaded to YouTube. The fact that it was never released contributes to its general obscurity, along with the general public conveniently "forgetting" that Marvel made movies prior to 2008. (And yes, I think it's a conspiracy-I mean, look at their track record back then: Spider-Man 3, Howard the Duck, Blade Trinity...if you made those movies, wouldn't you want to cover them up? ) I recommend it to anyone who likes to laugh at bad movies.
