Top Ten One-Scene Wonders in the Marvel Cinematic Universe
What a one-scene wonder is is a character in a movie that is popular, but only shows up in one scene. It should be obvious with the loads of characters the MCU has, there's gonna be a ton of these. Note that these characters can have bigger prevalence in later movies, but are one-scene wonders in some other movies. This list lists which movies these characters only had one scene in in parentheses.Yes, Thanos was a one-scene wonder in the post-credits scenes of both Avengers movies before Infinity War. One could argue he could have a one-scene wonder in Guardians of the Galaxy as well, since his role in that movie is incredibly minor too.
Thanos: Fine! I'll do it myself.
The very first post-credits scene in the MCU shows Nick Fury making his grand entrance. He also makes only one appearance in Captain America: The First Avenger at the very end before the MCU decided to use him more often. I'll also include his only scene in Avengers: Infinity War too, since he only gets one scene there.
Captain Marvel completely ruined this character for me.
The movie retconned Peter Parker's first introduction in the MCU. Remember that little kid with the Iron Man mask who got saved by Tony? That was Peter Parker's very first scene.
Taneleer Tivan only really appeared in one scene in each of the movies above. While his role in Guardians of the Galaxy is biggest, again it was only one scene. Benicio Del Toro plays quite an enigmatic role here.
MAJOR SPOILERS FOR SPIDERMAN: FAR FROM HOME: Yep, J. Jonah Jameson gets only one scene, the mid credits scene where he reveals Spiderman as a bad guy. But I bet no one expected him to be played by the EXACT SAME GUY who played him in the Sam Raimi trilogy, J. K. Simmons.
Much like Taneleer, Howard the Duck only appeared in only one scene in 3 movies. One could easily miss his grand entrance onto the Earth battlefield in Avengers: Endgame. Yeah, he was there.
There's loads of scenes in Thor Ragnarok, but Stephen Strange only appears in one. Granted, it's still hilarious as it is though, since he proves to be more magical than Thor or Loki could ever be.
Hawkeye's first scene in the MCU had him as a one-scene wonder, attempting to take down a storming Thor in a compound with his trusty weapon. This was before he became a part of the Avengers lineup.
This is a character who had a major villain role in an early movie, but then disappeared and became a one scene wonder on Vormir, where he guides Soul Stone seekers in both Infinity War and Endgame. He has no other scenes in these movies.
Appears at the very end talking with Stark.
