Oscars 2017 Ending Fail

MegaSoulhero I am very angry right now! The absolute worst thing happened during the Oscars this year! It was just so... UGH! They made a VERY huge mistake! So let's discuss it.

First of all, let me get this out of the way. I made a list titled Top 10 Oscar Predictions for 2017. So I made 10 predictions and 8 of them were correct! One of the ones I got wrong was best actor in a leading role. I said Denzel Washington would win but instead Casey Affleck won. I actually wanted Casey to win but I didn't think he actually would. But yeah, he really deserved that Oscar! The other prediction I got wrong was for the biggest category! Best picture! I said that La La Land would win and I was right for about 2 minutes! Then it was revealed that Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty were given the wrong envelope! They were given the envelope that said Emma Stone from La La Land won best leading actress! They were confused by this which is why they paused before saying the winner. Turns out Moonlight was the real winner for best picture! Looks like someone's getting fired.

Remember that mistake that Steve Harvey made at the Miss Universe pageant? This was kind of like that! I'm happy that Moonlight won the award. It was a good and well written movie. I just feel bad for La La Land. Do you know how it feels to be excited when you win an award and go up on stage only to realize it was just a misunderstanding? How do they mess up something like this!? At least it will make people forget about John Travolta pronouncing Idina Menzel's name wrong! I'm not mad that Moonlight won the award, I'm mad because of this really big mistake! That was such a huge slap to the face! I honestly didn't think something like this would happen this year! I thought that Auli'i Cravalho getting hit in the head would be the only mess up in the show this year, but then that terrible ending with the mix up happened! I agree with Billy Crystals tweet in which he said this kind of thing should've happened on election day.

Again, Congrats to Moonlight for winning best picture. I am very happy for them. But I would be happier IF THEY DIDN'T MIX UP THE ENVELOPES!!! That 2 minutes of joy I had when they announced La La Land was fun while it lasted. I really wish they made sure that they gave the presenters the right envelope! I am very disappointed! So that's my rant on this year's Oscars! Other than that terrible ending, I really enjoyed it! I just hope they don't make a mistake this big next year!
