This is true. I used to be so obsessed with Linkin Park and I became a total fanboy, before I found other great bands like Metallica.

The Contenders

11 Pop

Here are some lines from mediocre songs. Find the odd one out:
1. “I really wanna get to know you”
2. “That’s what makes you beautiful”
3. “Bubble for me gyal”
4. “I need a girl like you”

The odd one out is 3. Pop ALWAYS has the same theme. 3 is from a (terrible) dancehall song called Bubbling Party by Charly Black. 1 is from Glowie’s songs Body and Tribalist (looks like she lost inspiration). 2 is from 1D and 4 is from Maroon 5 (you’d probably already know that.)

Mediocre at best. - SoldierOfFortune

13 Queen Queen Queen are an English rock band formed in 1970. Members were Freddie Mercury (Vocals and Piano), Brian May (Guitar, Vocals), Roger Taylor (Drums, Vocals), and John Deacon (Bass Guitar, Vocals). Before forming into Queen, Brian May and Roger Taylor had played together in a band named Smile. Freddie Mercury more.

I have heard Pavarotti singing Queen: "Too much love will kill you". Just watch this on youtube. It was horrible. But Pavarotti was a great Queen fan, so I excuse this for him. Freddie had 4 octave vocal range, Pavarotti had 2 and half.

Way over-loved and over-rated. Rolling Stone magazine had Freddy Mercury rated as the #16 rock vocalist of all time, which is about right.

"To be honest", Freddie is vastly inferior to a whole host of singers, most notably the greatest of all time; Il Maestro himself, Luciano Pavarotti- it's really a joke to even compare the two.
Along the same lines, among current singers, Andrea Bocelli, Placido Domingo, and also older names like Mario Lanza, Jussi Bjorling, and of course the immortal Enrico Caruso all make Freddie Mercury sound like an amateur.

14 Eminem Eminem Eminem, born Marshall Bruce Mathers III, is an American rapper, actor and music producer born on October 17, 1972 in St. Joseph, Missouri. 18 The Beatles The Beatles The Beatles were an English rock band formed in Liverpool in 1960. The members consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. They were soon known as the foremost and most influential act of rock era. Rooted in skiffle, beat, and 1950s rock and roll, the Beatles later experimented more.

The Beatles prove the fallacy of over-loving music, you just can't do it, being that they are the most popular, biggest selling, most successful music act of all time. Even given their tremendous advantage over every other musician, probably less than 30 percent of the people who know about them even like them. The rest don't care or may dislike them. All other musicians take a radical drop from there, with MJ or LZ probably below 20 percent favorable among the entire population, and Queen and Nirvana below 10 percent favorable among everyone. No music act or genre can be over-loved, and they all need as much love as they can get.

I love these guys, but I will admit they're overrated as hell.

19 Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin was an English rock band formed in London in 1968. The group consisted of Robert Plant (Vocal), Jimmy Page (Guitar), John Paul Jones (Bass, Keyboard) and John Bonham (Drums). The band's heavy, guitar-driven sound, rooted in blues and psychedelia on their early albums, has earned them recognition more.
