Top 10 Most Overhated Rock, Punk and Metal Singers

The Top Ten
1 Chad Kroeger Chad Robert Kroeger is a Canadian musician and producer, best known as the lead vocalist and guitarist for the Canadian rock band, Nickelback.

I honestly don't like his voice, but he is not the worst singer ever, I have heard far worse(Justin Bieber, Dahvie Vanity, Taylor Swift). I don't like the song Rock Star, but he probably has better songs.

Not only is Nickelback a good and way too overhated band, Kroeger has a memorable voice that on certain songs ("Where? ", "Fly") sounds extemely fitting and good.

The problem with him is that he sings in such a way that this songs seems very same to people
But he isn't that bad ' Believe it or not ', Burn it to the ground ' are good songs that people can check out.

He's not the worst singer ever yet he's not the best either.

2 Axl Rose William Bruce Rose Jr., better known as 'Axl Rose', is an American singer born on February 6, 1962, in Lafayette, Indiana. He Is the founder and lead singer of the hard rock band Guns N' Roses. He is a celebrated but controversial figure in the world of rock.

He's actually a pretty good singer he almost has a 5 octave vocal range

3 John Bush John Bush is a singer who was first in the band Armored Saint however he then went on to join Anthrax after they got Joey Belladonna their last singer out of the band. John Bush then left Anthrax in 2005 though briefly rejoined in 2009 only to leave again in 2010
4 Tim Ripper Owens Timothy S. "Ripper" Owens is an American heavy metal singer who currently performs with Beyond Fear, Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force and Charred Walls of the Damned.

Yes, he's overhated. He's a great singer in his own right but he didn't choose the right career path for himself: he should have formed his own band. Replacing great, loved and charismatic singers in other metal bands didn't work well for him. But hey, The Metal Gods from Judas Priest invited him to replace Rob Halford. This is something.

Only hated because he's Not Rob Halford but his voice is almost just as amazing as Robs

5 Corey Taylor Corey Todd Taylor was born in December 8, 1973. He is an American musician, author, and actor best known as the lead singer and lyricist of the Nu-metal band Slipknot and hard rock/alternative metal band Stone Sour.

He's not really hated but he is a good vocalist

6 M. Shadows Matthew Charles Sanders, better known by his stage name M. Shadows, is an American musician, best known as the lead vocalist, songwriter and founding member of the American metalcore/alternative metal band Avenged Sevenfold.

I'm not his fan but I wouldn't say I hate him personally. Here's what I hate: he isn't a metal singer and I hate seeing him in the top 10 of metal singers lists (different list versions) when real metal singers that are 10x better than him are at #105. Same for Ben Burnley, now at #5 best metal singer, LOL... I can add many others that don't belong in the metal singer lists but take the top spots meant for really great metal singers.

I think he is over-hated. He does not deserve the hate that he gets. He can scream, growl and also can sing in clean voice. I think the only reason he gets hating because Avenged Sevenfold is not a metal band. Not a valid reason to hate any singer.

He deserves his hate he's mediocre, rips off Metallica and is generic as hell.

No he deserves the hate he gets for being mediocre

7 Gerard Way Gerard Arthur Way is an American singer, songwriter, musician, and comic book writer who was the lead vocalist and co-founder of the American alternative rock band My Chemical Romance from its formation in September 2001 until its split in March 2013. The Contenders

Other bands he was in include AVA and Box Car Racer.

Honestly, he is really overhated, maybe not on this site, but outside of this site, he is overhated. I like his voice actually, it is unique and he has many good performances, they are not bad like some people say they are, only a few of them are actually bad, I actually think he can sing. At least Tom doesn't let playback do all the work for him and he actually tries to sing. He is actually a good singer, but some people don't seem to like unique singing voices.
