Average and forgettable 'alternative rock' (which is actually just pop rock with a slight edge these days) that isn't great by any means. Not to mention how the vocalist shouts instead of sings in many cases (listen to the awful chorus on Warriors for instance). A below average band that represents how far alternative rock has sunk since its inception in the 80s and 90s.

While their older stuff is tolerable and their newer stuff is thrash I honestly think that people seriously overhype this band.

Muse are an English alternative rock band from Teignmouth, Devon, formed in 1994. The members are Matt Bellamy (lead vocal, lead guitar, piano, keyboard), Dom Howard (drums, percussion) and Chris Wolstenholme (bass, backing vocals). They've won several awards including 5 MTV Awards, 8 NME Awards, 2 Brit Awards, and 2 Grammy Awards. I can't deny they're overhyped, but they're too high on this list. They aren't bad.

Maroon 5 is an American pop/pop rock band that originated in Los Angeles, California. Before the current group was established, the original four members, Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael Mickey Madden and Ryan Dusick, formed a band known as Kara's Flowers in 1994, while they were still in high school. Like Fall Out Boy when they started out they were decent but quickly became sell outs. Their even more over-hyped than Fall Out Boy at this point.

The Chainsmokers are an American DJ and production duo consisting of Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart. The EDM-pop duo achieved a breakthrough with their 2014 song "#Selfie", which was a top twenty single in several countries. Everything wrong with modern music these days. Overreliance on electronic elements, cruddy lyrics, repetitive and droning melodies, it's all there! Not to mention how their career initially started by making a song mocking how shallow modern culture is and then base their continued career on pandering to that culture. Also, they're apparently horrible people too.

Disturbed is an American alternative metal/nu-metal/hard rock band from Chicago, Illinois. The band comprises vocalist David Draiman, bassist John Moyer, guitarist Dan Donegan, and drummer Mike Wengren. They are known for songs like "Down With the Sickness" and "Stricken". They got a decent sound but that's about it.
Radiohead are an English rock band from Abingdon, Oxfordshire, formed in 1985. The band consists of Thom Yorke (lead vocals, guitar, piano, keyboards), Jonny Greenwood (lead guitar, keyboards, other instruments), Colin Greenwoood (bass guitar), Phil Selway (drums), and Ed O'Brien (guitar). Good, but nothing fantastic. I admire how they try and experiment and whatnot, but that doesn't mean that they're fun to listen to. Not to mention how their most recent release (A Moon Shaped Pool) is only recommendable if you are an insomniac or find the mundane ramblings of Yorke and co endearing. A band who are overhyped to the max, Radiohead are a perfectly fine band who were the unfortunate victims of media hype.
