Top 10 Most Overplayed Good Songs

The Top Ten

1 Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin

Hello, Single Ladies, Viva La Vida, See You Again, So What, and Rolling in the Deep are all bad songs. This is good. - Brobusky

This song never gets old. - Catacorn

I Could Listen To This all Day And Night. It Doesn't Count As Overplayed When People (Like Me) Can't Get Enough Of It - 12cc

2 Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen

This has to be number 1

Yikes this is SO overplayed!

3 Hello - Adele

This isn't a list of best overplayed songs, it's a list of good songs that are the most overplayed. This song isn't the best on this list, but I think it's the most overplayed one here - Martinglez

This song is awful. When I first listened I was like -"Wow, Adele made a great new song! Its all good! " But now, after hearing it 467384538 times on the radio, I am glad that I brought some headphones with me. - Catacorn

This list is inaccurate. What is the objective standard of a "good" song? Maybe the title should have been "Top 10 Songs Considered to be Good but are Overrated"

This song is definitely overplayed, but to be honest, I still like it.

4 Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana

Kurt stated the Song was overplayed when alive now even more after death. Kurt also never wanted to be judged from the popularity of one song, but the track single handily put the nail in the coffin for sorry ass hair metal bands and for that we should be forever greatful.. - Screw32

Incredible band, incredible song. SO overplayed, though. - HappyMouse111

Overplayed, Overrated But Still A Great Song - 12cc

Yes it is overplayed, but its still a great song. - Catacorn

5 Nothing Else Matters - Metallica
6 Don't Stop Believin' - Journey

I just have to say even though this might be one of the most overplayed songs of all time it never gets old. Puts a smile one my face as soon as I hear that intro. Timeless. Even the people that say that hate this song sing along!

The king of overplayed good songs, I'd say. I used to love this and 'Any Way You Want It' but both have been played to death and 'Glee' certainly did not help things. - BKAllmighty

7 Crazy Train - Ozzy Osbourne

Can this be overplayed? It's so addictive.

8 Smoke On the Water - Deep Purple
9 Viva la Vida - Coldplay

This song is amazing. - Catacorn

10 Enter Sandman - Metallica

Worst Metallica Song. It Gets On My Nerves Every time I Listen To It - 12cc

The Contenders

11 Smooth Criminal - Michael Jackson
12 Livin' on a Prayer - Bon Jovi
13 Rolling In the Deep - Adele

This song is actually a very good song. Just because Adele is depressing doesn't mean she's an awful singer. - Swellow

14 Stressed Out - Twenty One Pilots

I've trashed this song a lot, while praising it a lot. It was overplayed, but I never actually heard it during its peak airplay because the radio was always turned down. Probably why I think it's still good, but still TOP's worst song, and doesn't deserve to be their biggest hit. - WonkeyDude98

15 Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It) - Beyonce

This is one of the worst songs of all time. - WonkeyDude98

16 So What - Pink
17 Mr. Brightside - The Killers

I love The Killers, this song is awesome. - Catacorn

Human is a way better song. - MrQuaz680

The Killers are great. Too bad everyone hears this song and not Dustland Fairytale or Spaceman. - Merilille

18 7 Years - Lukas Graham

Like what I said about Adele's "Hello". When I heard this song the first time on the radio I was like -"Cool, a song that basically describes my life, I love it! " And it actually was my favorite song for quite a while. But after hearing his whiny voice for about 14 total busrides, I've had enough of it. - Catacorn

I still like it, but combined with everyone starting to hate it, I'm actually really kriffing sick of this. Maybe. - WonkeyDude98

19 Just Give Me a Reason - Pink
20 Thriller - Michael Jackson
21 See You Again - Wiz Khalifa

Honestly, the last time I heard it was two months after Paul Walker died, then it stopped here. - Swellow

I agree, it's a good song, but it was built for listens in moderation, not to stand up overplay. - WonkeyDude98

This is a fantastic song/tribute but it being over played ruined it slightly. - NobodyFamous

Used to be the ONLY thing on radio

22 Wanted Dead or Alive - Bon Jovi
23 Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Green Day

I love Green Day, this song is quite overplayed but its still good. - Catacorn

24 Uptown Funk - Mark Ronson
25 We are the Champions - Queen
26 Highway to Hell - AC/DC
27 It's My Life - Bon Jovi
28 The Unforgiven - Metallica
29 Shut Up and Dance - Walk the Moon

I like this song, but I believe it should be played moderately, and not once every 6 songs on the radio.

30 Never Gonna Give You Up - Rick Astley
31 Fade to Black - Metallica
32 Love Yourself - Justin Bieber

This may be Bieber's best song outside Maria, but good lord people, let it go away! It was not built to survive overplay, and yet here we are. I'm sick of this. - WonkeyDude98

I'm not going to lie, this song is actually pretty good. I hate Bieber, but this is probably his best song, and maybe is only good one too. - Catacorn

33 Bring Me to Life - Evanescence
34 Lux Aeterna - Clint Mansell
35 November Rain - Guns N' Roses
36 Demons - Imagine Dragons

Greatest song of all time, from the moment I started my account, my opinions have not changed. But yeah, this may have been overplayed when I still thought the chorus said "It is my theme in time". - WonkeyDude98

37 Stitches - Shawn Mendes
38 Can't Stop the Feeling - Justin Timberlake

Play it a LOT, but still is very good. Very funky. Reminds me of Uptown Funk

39 My Heart Will Go On - Celine Dion
40 The Imperial March - John Williams
41 Let It Go - Idina Menzel
42 Let's Get Back to Bed - Boy! - Sarah Connor

Go to Germany or Austria, turn on the radio and just wait.
It WILL ultimately be played.
I really like Sarah Connor and at first I thought this song was a fun pop song (not one of her best though), but hearing this one song over and over again when she has some real masterpieces that get little recognition, does not help it get more popular with me.
I don't even get why they play it so much. This was her debut single and initially not such a huge hit song (yes, it entered the Top 5, but disappeared soon afterwards). She had several chart successes in Germany since then, but none of them (except for the wonderful ballad "From Sarah With Love") get as much airplay as this one song.
It is a neat and nice RnB inspired midtempo jam that makes you feel good when you hear it once in a while, but in the last few years radio stations treat it as if it was a groundbreaking landmark in popular music. - Martin_Canine

43 American Idiot - Green Day
44 Welcome to the Jungle - Guns N' Roses
45 You Could Be Mine - Guns N' Roses
46 Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) - Green Day
47 Iron Man - Black Sabbath
48 E.T. - Katy Perry
