Worshiped as the greatest band ever for just one song

#1 = More overrated than the idiotic self portrait craze

Don't even get me started on how overrated this band is.

Because of Smells Like Teen Spirit.

2 Linkin Park Linkin Park is an American alternative rock band formed in Agoura Hills, California, in 1996. The current members include Mike Shinoda (vocals, keyboards, rhythm guitar), Brad Delson (guitar), Dave "Phoenix" Farrell (bass), Joe Hahn (DJ), and Rob Bourdon (drums). It seems as if everybody, especially on this website think linkin park is the greatest thing ever, they say chester is the greatest singer of all time just because he sings songs for edgey teens, and then killed himself, no offense to him, he just wasnt in my eyes the best. There are plenty of other bands and singers way better. For example: Queen, Green Day, Three Days Grace, Led Zeppelin, lynyrd skynyrd, guns n roses, etc.

I highly doubt with the amount of (justified, mind you) hatred that these guys get that they're classified as overrated.

Ehhh they had a few good songs but nothing that makes me want to run out and see them live

3 Radiohead Radiohead are an English rock band from Abingdon, Oxfordshire, formed in 1985. The band consists of Thom Yorke (lead vocals, guitar, piano, keyboards), Jonny Greenwood (lead guitar, keyboards, other instruments), Colin Greenwoood (bass guitar), Phil Selway (drums), and Ed O'Brien (guitar).

Therir fans have abused of language even point to say that Radiohead is the contemporary Pink Floyd.

Coldplay is more overrated. And Radiohead is good.

Overrated, and overhyped enough said.

4 Red Hot Chili Peppers The Red Hot Chili Peppers is an American funk-rock and alternative rock band, that was founded in 1983. The band's members are Anthony Kiedis (Vocals), Michael "Flea" Balzary (Bass), Chad Smith (Drums) and numerous guitarists, most well-known being John Frusciante. The band is among the most well-known funk bands in music history with albums like "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" and "Californification" being some of their best known works. Throughout their career, the band has won numerous different awards and established an immense fanbase.

You can't say this band has the same sound throughout their whole career because they have changed guitarists and drummers throughout their career. Their 1991 BSSM album was one of the best albums in the 90s, and it defined who they are as a band, funky. Flea really defined who he is from this album throughout the 2000's and now. I honestly love their 2002-By the Way and 2006 Stadium Arcadium the most, because that's when John Frusciante was at the peak of his career in guitar playing, and Anthony Kiedis's voice really sounded a lot better than before in these 2 albums. This band stands out from other rock bands cause their sound changes so much every album, that's why they are so overlooked as musicians and they have talent that no other rock band has ever seen. You can't classify these guys as a rock band, alternative band, or anything else. Just say they are a great band with amazing talent.

Every single one of their songs sounds exactly the same and none of them are anything close to resembling musicality. They all begin and end with the same dull guitar line which is barely present throughout the actual song. Why the same radio stations are repeatedly playing them mostly within the same couple of hours is beyond. Basically if you've heard one song from them you've technically listened to their entire discography as there is little to no difference between songs.

Yeah, and their singer (Anthony Kiedis) is often out of tune, on studio versions.

5 Pearl Jam Pearl Jam is a grunge/alternative rock Band formed in Seattle, Washington in 1990. The band had comprised of Eddie Vedder, Mike McCready, Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament. Pearl Jam are most famous for their hit singles "Even Flow", "Black", and "Jeremy" which all appear on their debut album, "Ten", named after the basketball player Mookie Blaylock's jersey number, #10.

They're better than Nirvana in my opinion. And their live performances are great too!

Am I the only one who doesn't like Eddie Vedder's whine of voice?

Not as overrated as Nirvana.

6 Muse Muse are an English alternative rock band from Teignmouth, Devon, formed in 1994. They've won several awards including 5 MTV Awards, 8 NME Awards, 2 Brit Awards, and 2 Grammy Awards.

They are a talented band. I mean the three men's doing all the work. But they are little bit of overrated.

Garbage. Never could get into them. They're not as bad as Radiohead though.

Great band but yeah they're a bit overrated.

7 Coldplay Coldplay are a British pop rock band formed in 1996. The band consists of Chris Martin (lead vocalist and pianist), Jonny Buckland (lead guitarist), Guy Berryman (bassist) and Will Champion (drummer and backing vocalist). Before making their debut album, they recorded and released three EPs: Safety in 1998, Brothers & Sisters as a single in 1999, and The Blue Room in the same year. The Blue Room was their first release on a major label, after signing to Parlophone. ...read more.

More like pop rock. Only their very old songs sound like alt-rock. They were actually always poppy and they increased in their next albums and songs. I wish Coldplay stayed with their old sound.

So overrated. Not even Alternative Rock.

Never liked their music either.

Hardly even alternative

I find them a bit overrated.

10 Evanescence Evanescence is an American alternative rock/alternative metal band. It was founded in Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1995 by singer/pianist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody.

Good band, but very overrated because they are only known for 2 popular band members and Amy Lee said she's Evanescense which sounds pretty arrogant.

Eh neutral towards this one being added.

The Contenders

One good song and they're great
