Top 10 Most Overrated American Cartoons

America you have so many overrated cartoons. Also Overrated means too popular not bad. So let the list begin.
The Top Ten
1 Rick and Morty Rick and Morty is an American adult animated science fiction sitcom created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon for Adult Swim.

I absolutely love this show, but I cannot stand the fanbase, they act so selfish and demanding to the writers and then they make annoying versions of jokes that are moderately funny. I want the show to continue, but I want the fanbase to take it easy.

I hate this show. The characters are terrible, the plots are unoriginal, bad jokes, and sometimes it feels like they just try to fit the first take into the episode, with al the stuttering and random burping. And why do people call this smart?

This just relies too much on gross out humor, excessive violence, and it "pop culture" callbacks. It's easily Adult Swims most overrated show, and it takes one too many hiatuses, which end up making its fanbase more rabid.

The difference between the other 2 on the top 3 is that I just don't enjoy this show. I don't like the characters or basically anything about it.

2 Family Guy

This show used to be very clever and funny, but then Seth McFarlane decided to cram his political agenda into every episode, go way overboard on the cutaway gags, and turn all the characters into one trait shells.

Not to mention the sheer amount of shock humor there's been lately.

At should not be on here

My little sister thought this was a children's cartoon and watched it! It wasn't what she expected. But yeah, this is pretty overrated.

I feel like it only exist to be racy and people love it. It's disgusting, the characters are all annoying and it looks horrible

I don't understand how this is so popular. It's not amazing and the graphics are a bit on the meh side.

It's the greatest show ever it shouldn't be on here

5 Adventure Time Adventure Time is an American animated television series created by Pendleton Ward for Cartoon Network. The series follows the adventures of a boy named Finn (voiced by Jeremy Shada) and his best friend and adoptive brother Jake (voiced by John DiMaggio)—a dog with the magical power to change shape and size at will. There is a lot of flaws with Adventure Time, it's still an okay show to watch, but it's still really overrated. The biggest flaw is "hey let's have this one character, forget about him/her for a couple seasons and not see this character until the final season! "

Adventure time is a really terrible show. The worst on this list with steven universe a close second. Everything else is ok though

7 Steven Universe Steven Universe is an American animated television series created by Rebecca Sugar for Cartoon Network. The show's based around a young boy by the name of Steven Universe, who is a hybrid of a gem and a human. He lives with his gem friends, Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl.

This show is a mixed bag for me. I like it and would take it over TTG. When I first watched this show, don't hate me but it was kind of boring. The packing was either too fast of too slow. Steven irataited me a little especially in Serious Steven. But the recent episoide said have gotten better but nothing phenomenal. I like this show but it is way over hyped it's absurd. But with all that said I like the concept and songs. I don't like the human/no plot development or charecter development episoide said.

Steven universe is decent at best. I don't think it deserves that much praise because it takes a lot from Dragon Ball Z. It's not a rip off but feels like some kind rehash. The animation is beautiful but simple. It's not horrible but I still watch it.

Incredibly overrated. Jeez okay I got it, it's a good show and I enjoy it but it like it's the second coming or anything! Adventure time is overrated too but justified more than this one.

The show is alright.I don't hate it or love it.But the fanbase is so horrible and ignorant! They made a girl almost kill herself because they wouldn't stop bullying her about her art, they treat the show like a god and start making death threats to haters! Why,just why?

The show is good, but the FANBASE though! Their straight up narrow minded about this stuff, in every YouTube video bout this there is a solid 5k saying the creator is stupid for cancelling it. And bruh, HOW ON EARTH is this kid friendly

What do you mean it's not overrated. It IS overrated, the fanbase thinks it's created by God and can't handle criticism. The show is for little kids under the age of 12 anyways

Gravity falls isn't overrated in my opinion. It's one of the best shows if not *the* best show on Disney right now. Definitely beats all the crappy sitcoms.

I kinda loved "Gravity Falls", but I don't like the fanbase.

The Contenders
11 Avatar: The Last Airbender Avatar: The Last Airbender is an American animated television series that aired for three seasons on Nickelodeon from 2005 to 2008. Avatar: The Last Airbender is set in an Asiatic-like world in which some people are able to manipulate the classical elements by use of psychokinetic variants of Chinese martial arts, known as "bending". This show is often seen as one of the greatest cartoons of all time and is commonly thought to be an anime.

This show was amazing but the fanbase is terrible

12 Loony Tunes

Lmao "now its bland and lost its touch" Wrong. Maybe reboots of LT suck to you- (which I should point out are created by entirely different people- most of the old cast is dead) but a classic is a classic.

Who put this on here, it was one of the greatest cartoons of all time, everything about it was so unique and great.

13 Invader Zim Invader Zim is an American animated television series created by Jhonen Vasquez for Nickelodeon. The series centers on an extraterrestrial named Zim from the planet Irk, and his mission to conquer Earth and enslave the human race along with his malfunctioning robot servant GIR.

Overrated, no one on the internet ever likes to hear anything negative said about it. On the internet everyone is overprotective with this childhood memory.

The idiot who said this is underrated is wrong, This show is entirely overrated.

This is the most UNDERRATED cartoon ever!

Why isn't this at #1

The show revolves around a sea sponge called SpongeBob SquarePants and his adventures under the sea. The show is considered to be one of the best Nickelodeon and cartoon shows of all time.

This should have gone above Steven universe and adventure time. Aldo invader sim. SpongeBob gets way to much attention from nick and is the spoiled child of Viacom.

This show survived far longer than it should have. The SpongeBob that everyone talks about is the old SpongeBob from 12 years ago :/

It was good, what made it collapse was the departure of it's original creator, but then he came back, and the show's getting better.

19 Rocko's Modern Life Rocko's Modern Life is an American animated television series created by Joe Murray for Nickelodeon. The series centers on the surreal life of an anthropomorphic Australian-immigrant wallaby named Rocko as well as his friends: the gluttonous steer Heffer, the neurotic turtle Filburt, and Rocko's faithful dog Spunky.

Jaw-droppingly excellent show writing-wise and ESPECIALLY humor-wise for what it's worth, but to say the least, its subject matter REALLY isn't as interesting as the art style cracks it up to be

20 Teen Titans Go! 'Teen Titans Go!' is an American animated television series produced by Cartoon Network. The show follows a superhero group called the Teen Titans, and shows what happens when they go home and have silly adventures.
