Top 10 Most Overrated Metal Bands of the 2000s

I`m not a big fan of Metal myself but I like some metal. Now the 2000's had a lot of overrated metal bands. Note: I am not saying these bands are bad they just get too much attention that's all. Also I won't do metal lists often, majorly because Metal_Treasure does a lot of himself so I`ll just focus on doing rock lists still though I got nothing against either genre.

1 Avenged Sevenfold Avenged Sevenfold is an American heavy metal band, that was formed 1999 in California. Their longest lineup of members was M. Shadows (Vocals), Synyster Gates (Lead Guitar), Zacky Vengeance (Rhythm Guitar), Johnny Christ (Bass Guitar), and The Rev (Drums).

Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan (Drums), their most notable drummer, passed away in 2009, being temporarily replaced by Mike Portnoy, who was replaced by Arin Ilejay, who was finally replaced with Brooks Wackerman. 2 Disturbed Disturbed is an American alternative metal/nu-metal/hard rock band from Chicago, Illinois. The band comprises vocalist David Draiman, bassist John Moyer, guitarist Dan Donegan, and drummer Mike Wengren. They are known for songs like "Down With the Sickness" and "Stricken".

I agree with all bands on the original remix of the author.

I mean their ok and all, but still their the most overrated 2000's metal band I've known.

Just please don't add Iron Maiden to the list

3 Godsmack Godsmack is an American alternative metal/hard rock band from Lawrence, Massachusetts, formed in 1995. The band is composed of founder, frontman and songwriter Sully Erna, guitarist Tony Rombola, bassist Robbie Merrill, and drummer Shannon Larkin.

Kind of overrated but Disturbed is more overrated.

It would be a boring list if I put Korn really high on the list. Either way this band is overrated.

5 Chevelle Chevelle is an American alternative metal band that formed in 1995 in the Chicago suburb of Grayslake, Illinois. The band was originally composed of brothers: Pete Loeffler, Sam Loeffler and Joe Loeffler.

This metal band was quite overrated in the 2000's only three others were more overrated then this one.

6 Saliva Saliva is an American hard rock band that was formed in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1996. Saliva released their self-titled debut album on August 26, 1997, through Rockingchair Records. This record label is owned and operated by Mark Yoshida, who recorded and produced the release at his studio, Rockingchair Studios.

As if the fact the singer of this band doing a song with Chad Kroger wasn't bad enough, this band sounds so generic, boring and redundant yet their still a popular 2000's metal band.

As overrated as they are, their is more overrated bands that I can think of.

I like this band and all but I will admit FFDP is kinda overrated.
