1 Duality - Slipknot

2 Run to the Hills - Iron Maiden

Run to the Hills and Breaking the Law were accused of being radio-friendly which isn't good from metal viewpoint. This radio-friendly element explains why there were overplayed.
But unlike many other songs on this list I still like these 2 songs.

3 Enter Sandman - Metallica

4 Hail to the King - Avenged Sevenfold

5 Angel of Death - Slayer

6 Hammer Smashed Face - Cannibal Corpse

I voted for this but I have to say that some other songs are more overrated, I just don't think they are metal songs and don't count them: Duality - Slipknot, Hail to the King - Avenged Sevenfold, and Chop Suey! - System of a Down.

7 Master of Puppets - Metallica

8 Breaking the Law - Judas Priest

It's great, but too overplayed.

9 Chop Suey! - System of a Down

Pretty good and funny song but it's nowhere near metal so I don't count it. Yet, it's overrated to the point that it's in the top 10 of many metal lists, given it's clearly not metal.

10 I Walk Among You - Iced Earth

11 The Number of the Beast - Iron Maiden

I think this is more overrated than Run to the Hills. The Number of the Beast has a cool intro but the rest of it doesn't impress me much. I guess it became so popular because it was a single and because it's the title track. But there are better songs on this album.
