Top 10 Most Overrated NBA Players of All Time

The Top Ten
1 LeBron James LeBron Raymone James is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association. LeBron has played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, and the Lakers.

LeBron has been in the league long enough that most fans weren't around when he was known as a choker whose all time peak was Dr. J till he started winning. He's obviously come a long way and I'd still say he's top 3 but younger fans and the media deify him as the goat with poor logic

Lebron James, the most overrated players in this era. Imagine that Kobe playing with KG and T-Mac in his prime, easy huh? This is just what Lebron did. And he was playing in east conference if you know what it mean. But what the F... this boy left Miami after terribly defeat by Spurs? Knowing that D-Wade starting physically decline? Yeah...act like he's trying bring one champ for Cleveland. They got Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving, again, another big 3! You still think he's one of greatest players? Take a look about what he been through. CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP!

2 Carmelo Anthony Carmelo Kyam Anthony is an American professional basketball player for the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association.
3 Ron Artest
4 Vince Carter Vincent Lamar "Vince" Carter is an American professional basketball player for the Sacramento Kings of the National Basketball Association.
5 Jeremy Lin Jeremy Shu-How Lin is an American professional basketball player for the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association.

Flash-in-the-pan, got a string of wins against sad sack teams. Whoopee.

6 Derrick Rose Derrick Martell Rose is an American professional basketball player for the Minnesota Timberwolves of the National Basketball Association.

His 2011 season is nice but it's not an all time great season. He doesn't deserve to go to the HoF and no, he was not on a top 5 PG ever trajectory before his injuries

If he never got injured he'd potentially be one of the best of all time. Like top 15 probably.

Plays too fast and out of control.

7 Giannis Antetokounmpo Giannis Antetokounmpo is a Greek professional basketball player for the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association.

When he drives, people step out of the way. The person who made this list is probably like a Clippers or Hawks fan, because most of the people on this list are very good players. And those teams haven't been doing too well lately, so he/she is salty.

8 Kyrie Irving Kyrie Andrew Irving is an American professional basketball player for the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association. He has played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, and the Nets.

Wow what a snake he left lebron to suffer wow what a prick wow now he doesn't even like the celtics anymore wow this is not so epic gamer moment wow.

9 Kobe Bryant Kobe Bryant (1978 - 2020) was an American retired professional basketball player. He played his entire 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association. Kobe Bryant has won 5 NBA championships with the Lakers and was the all-time leading scorer in Lakers franchise history... read more

He isn't as clutch as people say and even though he hit some very difficult shots, he has lost a ton of them too. He most generally isn't the goat, just as he isn't the 2nd best player of all time. A guy who won 5 championships, not being the best player of the team in 3 of them can't be called a top 2 player. He also was extremely inefficient and a terrible teammate. Personally I think he is a top 5 player all time just not top 2.

People just cannot stop putting him in the top 5. Kobe's efficiency is way worse than mj or lebron, he averaged 25ppg 5 rpg and 4 apg on 44.7 percent shooting with a per of 22.9. He's also only won 1 mvp in 2008 which he didn't deserve, lebron and Dwight Howard had way better efficiency than Kobe did and he even Chris Paul was snubbed as he had a double double in points and assists

10 Allen Iverson Allen Ezail Iverson is an American retired professional basketball player who played for 14 seasons in the National Basketball Association.

An inefficient shot chucker who is immortalized due to the 2001 season where he shouldn't have won MVP over Shaq. He "dragged" an elite defensive team to the finals, a team that had the DPOY, 6MOTY, and COTY by the way. The refs helped push him there too. Take away that season and there's virtually nothing to go off of. Not top 50 all time

If he would actually practice he could have become a good player. Now he is not even a top fifty player.

The Contenders
11 Gilbert Arenas Gilbert Jay Arenas Jr. is an American former professional basketball player. Arenas attended Grant High School in the Valley Glen district of Los Angeles, and accepted a scholarship offer to the University of Arizona late in his junior year.
12 Dwight Howard Dwight David Howard is an American professional basketball player for the Washington Wizards of the National Basketball Association.

Could dunk and block and not much else. 42 percent from the line. Really?

He sucks. Should have retired after the dunk contest years ago

13 Stephen Curry Wardell Stephen Curry II is an American professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is widely considered to be one of the greatest shooters in NBA history, if not the greatest. He is one of the most beloved stars in the NBA today, as... read more

He's trash compared to Lebron. For sure not one of the greats. Only bandwagoners like him. And no, I'm not a Lebron or Cavs fan. I'm a Lakers fan. Just dumb always running into people who say Steph is the greatest of all time.

The warriors are good, not Curry. Also, chefs don't play basketball

14 Michael Jordan Michael Jeffrey Jordan, also known by his initials, MJ, is an American retired professional basketball player.

MJ is the GOAT. Yes, you can say what you want like the 90's teams were overrated and he had help but EVERY all time great has had help. MJ had Scottie Pippen, Phil Jackson, Dennis Rodman, and Horace Grant. Magic Koh son had Kareem and Worthy. LeBron James had Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, Ray Allen, and Shane Battier. Wilt Chamberlain had help from Jerry West, Kareem Abdul Jabbar had help from Magic, Worthy, and Oscar Robertson, Oscar Robertson had Kareem, Jerry West had Elgin Baylor and Wilt Chamberlain, Tim Duncan had Tony Parker, Kawhi Leonard, David Robinson, and Manu Ginobli, Shaq had Kobe and Dwayne Wade, Kobe had Shaq, Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum, and Lamar Odom, Julius Erving had Moses Malone and vice versa. Hakeem Olajuwon was the only player to not have help because no one good beat him and the Magic weren't that good and even so he had Clyde Drexler. Garnett, Pierce, and Allen had each other. Stephen Curry had Draymond Green, Iguodala, and Klay Thompson. Isiah Thomas has Joe Dumars, Bill Laimbeer, and Dennis Rodman. Dirk Nowitzki had Jason Kidd, Tyson Chandler, and Jason Terry. See all these championship winners HAD HELP. It's not like Jordan was the only player to HAVE HELP. Why don't you look at some facts and think about what you have to say before you actually speak. You can say I'm defending Mike or whatever the heck you want but it's the truth.

15 Blake Griffin Blake Austin Griffin is an American professional basketball player for the Detroit Pistons of the National Basketball Association.
16 Bill Russell William Felton "Bill" Russell was an American retired professional basketball player. Russell played center for the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association from 1956 to 1969.

amazing defender, arguably the best of all time, but his poor offensive ability is too much to overlook in my opinion. the only reason I say he is overrated because people say he is a top 5 or even top 3 player of all time

17 James Harden James Edward Harden, Jr. is an American professional basketball player for the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association.

The only thing he is good at is getting fouled. And making his beard look perfect.

Flops bad on d... take away free throws and he averages 20 a game. Good but not mvp

Travels, flops to get foul calls, and still he doesn't even shoot good percentages, takes way to many contested threes

18 Russell Westbrook Russell Westbrook Jr. is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association.

Overrated as crap can't even make a shot to save his life.

19 Patrick Ewing Patrick Aloysius Ewing (born August 5, 1962) is a Jamaican-American retired Hall of Fame basketball player and current head coach of the Georgetown University men's basketball team.
20 Bill Walton

Avg 13 point and 10 rebounds for career-? Not Hall of Fame numbers?
Did have 1 good year (resulting in (Teamwork Championship)
Gets NBA credit for his college years.

21 Yao Ming Yao Ming is a Chinese basketball executive and retired professional basketball player who played for the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association and the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association.

How can a guy who is 7-6 average just 9.2 rebounds and 1.9 blocks throughout his career? Dennis Rodman was 6-7 and averaged 13.1 rebounds for his career. The only reason he was so good was because of his height.

He was so trash! I don't even know how or why he is in the hall of fame.

This man is so bad. His height is it really

22 Anthony Bennett
23 Shaquille O'Neal Shaquille Rashaun O'Neal, nicknamed Shaq, is a retired American professional basketball player who is currently an analyst on the television program Inside the NBA. He is known for his fun, friendly personality, and is one of the most beloved athletes of all time.

Overhyped to the point where he is only for use as children's entertainment.

He was just big, he had no skills, if he had got sick and lost weight they would have kicked him out of the league

24 Joakim Noah Joakim Simon Noah is a professional basketball player for the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association.
25 Dirk Nowitzki Dirk Werner Nowitzki is a German professional basketball player for the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association.

To people who do not play basketball, dirk is underrated. But to people who know how to play basketball, he is completely overrated. He got hot one postseason and won the finals. Other than that, he is just good at recieving votes telling him he is great, but his performance on the court tells a different tell. Great on offense, weak on defense and rebounding. I personally never seens a 7 footer weaker on defense and rebounding than dirk other than yao.

Dirk is not overrated or so is every superstar. His best help was Jason Terry and Shawn Marion. That was his team besides him. He got beat in a rigged 2006 finals. Look at his competition:Shaq, Dwyane Wade, and the Heat. Then the Heat in the big 3 era. All other champions didn't carry trash to the playoffs for an entire career
