Top 10 Most Overrated Nintendo 64 Games
The game makers are not blamed for making games overrated, it's the fanboys who do.
You know, almost all Nintendo 64 games could be considered overrated. People say they're the best because that's what they grew up with. Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask are both great games, but they are NOT the best games of all time. Neither is Goldeneye or Banjo-Kazooie. Sure some games are better than others, but at the end of the day, it's all opinion based. Just because a lot of people like a game and you don't doesn't mean you have to like it. Ocarina of Time may be my favorite Zelda game, but it's only because it's the only one I beat. And it is not my favorite game of all time, that goes to Super Mario Bros 3 because that is what made me get into video games in the first place. A game being overrated does not mean it is bad or good, it just means that people like to talk about it a lot, positively or negatively, and it becomes annoying.
O.M.G. I hate this game so much and I have plenty of reasons to call it overrated. 1. The temples are so confusing to navigate. Note that I am new to Zelda. But they are impossible to navigate. 2. It gets boring quickly. So I just walk around while doing nothing because I don't know where to go. 3. All the sequels have superior gameplay and graphics, making OoT outdated. 4. The ocarina is confusing to use. Every time I need to use it I have to swing my thumb up to the c buttons, wasting time. 5. Navi. Duh. 6. It's really no different than other Zelda games.
True. From Super Mario 64 to Mario Kart 64 to Ocarina of Time, everyone likes them now as they had good memories playing them. The reason people like the n64 games today are because of nostalgia. that's it. They diss the current Nintendo games today,saying stuff and more stuff about how the current games are, unlike how 'awesome' these games are.
Hey, I am entitled to my own opinion, just because I don't like Zelda doesn't mean you have to kill me. And I am a Nintendo fan, but I see this game SO much it annoys me and it can't be anywhere but #1.
Oh my gosh this game. So frustrating in single player, over-competitive in multiplayer, extremely poor graphics when they could have taken advantage, and weird controls.
Horrible controls, just as most of the FPS games released on console systems back then. To call it one of the best N64 games speaks very bad of the system itself.

This game is worse than the wii version.
This game gets repetitive once you finish 50cc. And people only like it for: toads turnpike, wario stadium, royal raceway, yoshi valley, and rainbow road. I also personally enjoyed Mario raceway, Choco mountain, banshee boardwalk, and kalimari desert.
The game just handled really badly. I much preferred Diddy Kong Racing over this one!

This game is extremely infuriating and difficult. But it is worthy of the SMW sequel. Just overrated, and it gets boring. (Spoilers: the top 3 will most likely make you mad and want to hate me. This game is underrated as heck! More than 1 person gives this game a 0/100 (but very little people pan this game that much score), and I think the game's aggregate score is a 9.5. I would give this game 100+/100 score.
This game is hard, sure, but it is amazing, and a great game for what they did as the first 3d mario game!

In my opinion mp2 improved upon this game, so it's pointless to play this one unless it's the only one you have. Then it's ok.

Not a bad game, but I think the plot is a little overused (subject a is stolen by subject B. subject c must rescue subject a) and it can get boring at times.
I legitimately like the humor in this game. Not that it's always funny, but that it's shocking to see this stuff in a Nintendo game. I would recommend someone watch the cutscenes and such. What I cannot recommend is playing this game. This game is beyond tedious to play, and the controls are unresponsive and stiff throughout. Some parts are genius designs or ideas, but it's just brought down by how low this game's low points are.
Basically a cheap furry knockoff of South Park (as in, South Park before it actually developed its intelligence in Seasons 4 and onward) that also inspired Happy Tree Friends (legitimately one of the worst animated series of time) and ultimately caused the death of Rareware's Nintendo alliance as a whole in the process
Seriously, name ONE part of this entire sodding game that even HALFWAY lives up to its astronomical comedic praise besides that one specific boss battle against the Great Mighty Poo

No. -_- This game has great level design, good characters, challenging, long (good, I get to play this good game for even longer! ),graphics are pretty solid for the time, story is solid, camera and water controls are bad. But everything has flaws. Ocarina of time has a flaw that the characters look so ugly, it's somewhat tedious.
