Not necessarily bad, but just too many unwanted fans.
Serena has proven to be a kind and polite girl but she can also be openly rebellious towards her mother, Grace. In Kalos, Where Dreams and Adventures Begin!, she refused to wake up when Grace ordered her to, and gave a sassy response to her mother's call to watch the news. This tumultuous relationship was best demonstrated when Grace made her practice Rhyhorn riding, an activity Serena had hated doing. If you take the internet as a whole instead of TheTopTens, then you will noticed that Serena is not hated as much as she is adored. TheTopTens isn't that large of a website compared to places that Serena has a large fanbase like YouTube. Also the main reason why people hate her so much on this site is because you can talk about her without having so much harassment and abuse coming your way when it comes to her.
Now adding Misty into this, I agree she's very overrated. Nostalgia is a huge factor for her popularity. However, she's been gone for over 10 years and the anime is starting to get a lot of fans that started the show around 4-5th gen (Even 6-7th gen) and they do not feel the nostalgic appeal for Misty because of it. MISTY IS AWESOME! I HATE SERENA! Misty deserves ASH. they are cute together. Misty is also not perfect and NEVER ARGUES (like Serena) that makes her good because she is normal and isn't perfect like everybody. But Serena only argued once with ASH OVER HIM! Misty is more sensible and has arguments like you would if your annoyed. She is just right for me. That whats makes her my favorite. Ash and her should get together
I just find her annoying nowadays. I used to like her as a kid, but nowadays she's just childish. It's not because of shipping or anything, but Misty's just toxic and childish, and just overrated purely because of nostalgia. What about May or Dawn? They're the best PokeGirls in my opinion. But everyone just cares about Misty, Misty, Misty...
Definitely the most overrated Pokegirl. She's still good, but she's nothing I'd call remarkable especially compared to the likes of Dawn and Serena.

Don't get me wrong Cynthia is a great character, but I could never get the obsession with her.
May is a female companion to Ash in the generation 3 anime. She was also the female character in Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire. May (anime) debuted in the 275th episode, "Get the Show on the Road!" She was going to be a trainer, but wasn't excited about it. After meeting a contest coordinator, she decided to do contests instead of gym battles. Bianca is a character from Pokemon by gamefreak & Nintendo. She is one of the rivals & a childhood friend of the protagonist in Pokemon black and Pokemon White. She lives in Nuvema Town, and was held back of being a Pokemon trainer because of her overprotective father wouldn't let her be one. Bianca became a trainer when her father still disapproved. Korrina is a fictional character in the Pokémon Series as the Shalour City Gym leader in the XY series, in the anime she's a cheerful girl with a explosive personality she has a Lucario who she raised and grew up with from when it was a Riolu, she was later tasked by her grandfather Gurkinn with finding the elusive Lucarionite which would allow for her Lucario to mega evolve.
