Top Ten Most Overrated Sega Franchises
I can't express how terribly overrated this franchise is. Okay, the first couple of games are pretty good, I'll give them that. And Sonic Heroes is decent. But Miyamoto have mercy, every time Sega tries to make me connect with these flat, one-dimensional characters, or take the dumbest, most boring villain of all time seriously, or have fun with gameplay that ranged from broken to stiff and boring, or listen to another brooding, angsty monologue from the "complex" and "tortured" Shadow the Hedgehog, I want to beat myself in the head with a Sega Genesis until I'm coughing up gold rings. Plus, a lot of Sonic fans are hostile to anyone who doesn't like the games. I can put up with the fandom's horrific, freakishly fetish-filled fanart if they weren't so closed-minded about it, refusing to acknowledge that the Sonic franchise has ANY problems. I'm not saying that anyone who likes Sonic is a weirdo, but I personally don't like it, nor do I see why anyone would.

We must never have to like the one-dimensional characters from Chris Thorndyke to the original Team Rose to some Archie Sonic characters to especially Princess Elise II. Shadow the Hedgehog was certainly not as great as he used to be in the Dreamcast Era at all, despite having the same epic powers. I actually have a mixed opinion towards the Sonic franchise. The original/main Sonic the Hedgehog trilogy was phenomenal, especially Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (& Knuckles). And the main Sonic games for the SEGA Dreamcast are overall decent, yup. There is a reason why Modern Sonic the Hedgehog is top 1, but classic Super Monkey Ball is too underrated for words like Pac-Man (before its 30th Anniversary). - The Ultimate Daredevil to Phenenas
I like Sonic, but it's overrated as heck! Any Sega franchise that isn't Sonic usually never gets any attention or love they should be getting, Jet Set Radio, NiGHTS, Panzer Dragoon, etc.

Jet Set Radio isn't even remotely overrated. It's VERY underrated, and I wish it would get more love.

How did these games get famous enough to have a T.V. series and a comic series?!
