I agree with this very much - this song is very simple yet long, repetitive and extremely boring. I don't understand why people praise it so much.

Hell Awaits and Raining Blood are WAY more overrated

This song is overrated compared to the other Rainbow songs but basically nothing by Rainbow is overrated so it shouldn't be very high on this list. I guess most people don't even know this song.
But yes, definitely it's not the best Rainbow song - they have at least 20 songs that are better than this.

I like this song, but some people think it's the best Rainbow song, and for the same reason why as on Metallica's NEM...

Also it's annoying this song was written in 4 minutes back in '70, Black Sabbath wanted to release their 2nd album named "War Pigs", but they realized the album isn't long enough, so they decided they write and record one more song very quickly (and they did it in 4 minutes as I said before), and it's the Paranoid, their most known song and the song which people think is the best metal song ever written and recorded only in 4 minutes. And not even a metal song as Metal_Treasure said, metal songs aren't popular in the mainstream and aren't 2 minutes long monotonous songs... and an almost unforgivable sin (okay, it's a big exaggeration already, sorry) when people say Paranoid is demanding metal but Highway Star by Deep Purple is simply hard rock song...

The most overrated song by a metal band. By the way, I don't think this song is metal but most people think it's the best metal song ever which makes Paranoid even more overrated.

Oh, I almost forgot about this... many people think it's the best JP song. And why? Because it's one of the least metal JP songs, and Black Sabbath influences are strongly audible on this one.

This deserves to be number 1, Judas Priest is tied for my favorite band with Iron Maiden, but this song sucks on its own, let alone compared to their other work.

Well, I like this ballad but I don't like when people think it's the best Metallica song. Metallica is a metal band and their best songs are thrash metal songs and not acoustic ballads.

In my opinion, this isn't even close to Metallica's best song, or even the best on the Black Album. It's a good ballad for sure, but it is also very overrated.

Some people think it's the best Metallica song... why? Because it's soft and cheesy as hell and the pop culture likes these kind of songs.

The most overrated nu metal song. Chop Suey, Freak On A Leash, My Own Summer (Shove It), etc. deserve the fame.
