Most Overrated Voice Actors/Actresses

Voice actors and actresses you've probably heard a thousand times in cartoons and movies.
The Top Ten
1 Tara Strong Tara Strong is a Canadian–American actress who has done work in numerous films and television series, both live-action and animated.

When I just found out that WatchMojo made a top 10 list called, "Top 10 Characters Tara Strong Voiced," I said to myself, "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? " I didn't bother to watch it though, because I just know it's going to be those painfully, annoyingly overrated characters that no one ever shuts up about.

Seriously, WatchMojo? Is it because you don't give a crap about making a top 10 list for either Mel Blanc, Daws Butler, June Foray, Rob Paulsen, Tress MacNeille, Billy West, Jim Cummings, Tom Kenny, Nancy Cartwright, Cree Summer, Phil Hartman, Kath Souice, Dan Castellaneta, Maurice LaMarche, Elizabeth Daily, Charlie Adler, Grey DeLisle, John DiMaggio, Christine Cavanaugh, Phil LaMarr, or even Frank Welker?!? You probably don't even give 2 craps for all of those people who have been in more nostalgic cartoons in your childhood and have more talent, effort, and likability to be awesome?!? It just has to be ALL ABOUT TARA DOESN'T IT?!?

2 Grey DeLisle Erin Grey Van Oosbree, credited as Grey DeLisle and Grey Griffin, is an American voice actress and singer-songwriter.

Most of the characters she voices are annoying and are usually the worst characters of the series. Grey and Tara are the most overused voice actresses in American cartoons. These two ladies voice as kids and they're too old to do that. Can they hire kids instead? They have been in this industry for a long time now. We need to know other voice actors. The voice acting industry should be like Hollywood---"out with the old, in with the new".

Just like Tress MacNeille, Grey DeLisle may give some characters voices that sound similar to another, but it's a different portrayal of that voice. That's why I think she's good. She's also very talented, and seems very nice (unlike that jerk, Tara Strong).

If this is to be believed according to one site I read (Terrible TV Shows I think) she is a bully and cheated on her husband if true then wow how appalling because I would make sure she never appears in a cartoon of mine if I were to make one.

3 Dee Bradley Baker Dee Bradley Baker is an American voice actor. His major roles, many of which feature his vocalizations of animals, include animated series such as American Dad!, Codename: Kids Next Door, Gravity Falls, Phineas and Ferb, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, Ben 10, and The 7D, live-action series such as Legends of the Hidden Temple and Shop 'til You Drop, films such as The Boxtrolls and Space Jam and video games such as Halo, Gears of War, Viewtiful Joe, and Spore.

He voices animal characters. Sometimes I feel bad for him because all he does is make animal sounds while the other voice actors get to have more important roles. Anyways, he was cool as Appa and Momo in Avatar.

Well your biased because you said frank welker is the best voice actor ever and he is mainly known for making animal sounds and the voice of fred from scooby doo

He's in a lot of older cartoons and my Lord, his voice is ANNOYING when he's not voicing animals. He's had a few decent roles like Tarrlok in LoK, but 99% of his characters make my ears bleed.

The visitor is right, if he makes animal sound we will know we still have this talent when Frank Welker dies.

4 Johnny Yong Bosch

Almost all of his voices sound the same for each character he plays (maybe not Lelouch).

I agree. I guess you could say, he's the male version of Tara Strong (LOL).

Male, anime, Tara Strong. Why should I bother, I don't even watch anime.

5 Tom Kenny Thomas James Kenny is an American actor and comedian known for his long-running role as the title character in the SpongeBob SquarePants TV series and films. Kenny has voiced many other characters including Heffer Wolfe in Rocko's Modern Life, the Ice King in Adventure Time, the Mayor in The Powerpuff Girls, Dog in CatDog, and Spyro from the Spyro the Dragon franchise. His live-action work includes the comedies The Edge and Mr. Show.

Stop being mean to this amazing voice actor! Tara Strong is the only you should be trash-talking to and be in the number one spot! She's the one whose voices sound exactly the same!

He has voiced a lot of annoying cartoon characters over the years the most annoying of them being Sponge Bob SquarePants.

Even if you think he plays annoying characters, he makes his voices sound consistently different and interesting.

Ironically he voiced Heffer Wolfe (the original Rocko's Modern Life version of Patrick) before voicing SpongeBob. Mind blown

6 Linda Cardellini Linda Edna Cardellini is an American actress. She is known for her roles as Lindsay Weir on Freaks and Geeks, Samantha Taggart on ER, Velma Dinkley in the live-action Scooby-Doo feature films, Sylvia Rosen, a neighbor of Don Draper's on the AMC drama series Mad Men, Meg Rayburn on the Netflix original series Bloodline, Cassie in Brokeback Mountain and Laura Barton in Avengers: Age of Ultron. She is also known for voicing roles in animated projects such as CJ in Regular Show, Marcy "Hot Dog Water" Fleach in Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, Wendy Corduroy in Gravity Falls, and Megan in Sanjay and Craig.

But isn't she Wendy from Gravity Falls?

She's actually good

She is so cute.

7 Tress MacNeille Tress MacNeille is an American voice actress. She has voiced characters for various animated television series such as The Simpsons, Futurama, Tiny Toon Adventures, Rugrats, Animaniacs, and Disney's House of Mouse.

A lot of fans (including myself) may give Ms. Tress a lot of attention and praise, but that's actually a good thing. What I'm trying to say is that even though she's overrated, it's only because love her for being in a lot of shows that were around during our childhoods (just like other great voice artists like Mel Blanc, Rob Paulsen, Frank Welker, Jim Cummings, Kath Souice, Tom Kenny, Jess Harnell, and Charlie Adler). To close this statement, I would like to say, "Thank you Tress MacNeille for being apart of my childhood and voicing a lot of great characters."

No, two characters she voice may sound the same but it's different portrayals of that voice. It's called versatility. She has a lot of it and that's why she's considered a great voice actor.

I love her, she's a great voice actress. She's puts in a lot of effort (unlike Tara Strong), and is in a lot of shows I like. My favorite roles of hers are: Daisy Duck, Dot Warner, Babs Bunny, Colleen, Hello Nurse, and Rhubella Rat.

That's true, and versatility is something Tara Strong does not have. Which is why I think Tress MacNeille is much better than her.

8 Mandy Moore Amanda Leigh "Mandy" Moore is an American singer-songwriter and actress. Moore first came to prominence with her 1999 debut single, "Candy", which peaked at number 41 on the Billboard Hot 100. After singing with Epic Records, she released her first album, So Real, in 1999. It went on to receive a Platinum certification from the RIAA.

What you trash talk Mandy wow

She is a good singer.

9 Samuel L. Jackson Samuel Leroy Jackson is an American actor and film producer. He achieved prominence and critical acclaim in the early 1990s with films such as Jungle Fever, Patriot Games, Amos & Andrew, True Romance, Jurassic Park and his collaborations with director Quentin Tarantino including Pulp Fiction, Jackie ...read more.

Some people only knew him for Nick Fury. Oh wait, that's live-action.

10 Rob Paulsen Robert Fredrick Paulsen III is an American voice actor and singer who has done many voice roles in various films, television shows, and video games.

Oh. I thought overused just meant they were used to much not overrated.

Why is it any of your business why he thinks Rob Paulsen is overrated.

He's one of the best voice actors ever! One of my childhood favorites.

He's actually a really good voice actor just overused.

The Contenders
11 Seth MacFarlane Seth Woodbury MacFarlane is an American television producer, filmmaker, actor, and singer, working primarily in animation and comedy, as well as live-action and other genres.

Come on, guys! Give this guy more love! Sure his comedy is a mixed bag, but at least he knows when to put effort into voicing a character. Outside of his television shows, he's simply hilarious on Robot Chicken, and his performance in both of the Ted movies is just the best.

He voices differant characters that sound exactly the same. Brian sounds like Tom Tucker, Carter sounds like Dr. Hartman, Peter sounds like Roger etc. He even tries to voice every random guy but they sound the same. He has a limited range and should hire real voice over actors.

I actually think he's pretty talented and funny. He's also a very good singer. Tara Strong is actually a horrible voice artist that has voices that sound exactly the same.

While I'm not a major fan of his writing, his acting is usually great and amusing.

12 Daran Norris

Nah, he is underrated.

13 Cree Summer

I think she's pretty good at voice acting.

At least she's better than Tara Strong.

I'm so sick of hearing her voice.

14 Yuri Lowenthal

Can't escape this man. Every game I play, he's there. His voice is annoying, childish, and shrill. I don't hate voice actors, but this once I will make an exception. Please, for the love of all that is holy, please say no to a role. Many roles. Say yes to only a few. It breaks immersion immediately to hear this same voice over and over, even if he tries to make it sound a lititle different.

His voice literally hurts my ears the way he makes it shrill and obnoxious. I still like some of the characters voices, just despite the fact that he's making them hard to listen to. Besides that, he's in everything and has little to no range. Once you hear his voice, you are instantly taken out of the game. Suddenly, all your hear is Yuri Lowenthal.

Voices pretty much the same character in everything he's in. Little to no range and instantly recognizable. Takes you out of the action and story almost always.

What?! But he's voiced Simon from Gurren Lagann, Suzaku from Code Geass, and Sasuke from Naruto!

15 June Foray June Lucille Foray was an American voice actress who was best known as the voice of such animated characters as Rocky the Flying Squirrel, Lucifer from Disney's Cinderella, Cindy Lou Who, Jokey Smurf, Granny from the Warner Bros.

Hey Modern Spongebob fan! Tara Strong is better than June Foray you say? Ha! Screw that girl.

Screw you! June Foray is a great voice actress! I like Tabitha St. Germain and Andrea Libman, but Tara Strong is scum!

How dare you say Tara Strong is better than "the" June Foray!

16 Phil LaMarr

I love Phil Lamarr tremendously. His comedy is exceptional in Mad T.V. but he's overcast. Which is not due to fan demand but he plays a good Hollywood game. He's a small voiced man who tries to voice big men and his resonance and timbre don't suit those roles. He's a competent actor but he can't hit emotional high and low notes when he has to force these gruff voices which obviously just sound like Phil Lamarr doing a voice.
Again, love him to death but he's been in overkill mode since the early 2000s.

17 John DiMaggio John William DiMaggio is an American actor, voice actor and comedian, known for his gruff voice, and for his work as Bender from the television show Futurama, Jake the Dog on Adventure Time, and Marcus Fenix in the hit Xbox video game Gears of War.

You mean Jake the Dog

No, he's awesome

Brother blood

18 Jeff Bennett Jeffrey Glenn "Glen" Bennett is an American voice actor and singer. His voice roles include Johnny Bravo in the television series of the same name and Petrie in the Land Before Time films and television series.

He is the very same guy who voiced Bendy in the infamous Foster's Home for Imginary Friends episode "Everyone Knows It's Bendy". Unfortunately he has never apologized for voicing the character which is one of the main reasons why I despise him. He is also one of the most overused voice actors ever. enough said.

I disagree! He is one of the most talented voice actors in the entire history. Not only that, he is also a famous sibger and rockstar. What a shame that some people hate him. Liliana Mumy and Isabella Acres are worse in my opinion.

He is extremely talented.

19 Patrick Warburton Patrick John Warburton is an American comedic actor and voice artist. In television, he has played David Puddy on Seinfeld, the title role on The Tick, Jeb Denton on Less Than Perfect, Jeff Bingham on Rules of Engagement and Lemony Snicket on A Series of Unfortunate Events.

If you guys wanna complain that he uses the same voice over and over again, that is because he has an iconic voice.

20 Seth Green Seth Benjamin Green is an American actor, voice artist, comedian, producer, writer and director. Green is the creator, executive producer, writer, director and the most-frequent voice on Adult Swim's Robot Chicken.

He either uses his own voice or sounds like he's mentally retarded and about to choke on his own vomit. His live action films are overrated and horrible. He wasn't that great on BTVS either, he was typically boring.

He sometimes can be insufferable, other times hilarious.

21 Mark Hamill Mark Richard Hamill is an American actor and voice actor. He is best known for his portrayal of Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars trilogy – Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi and his portrayal of the Joker in Batman: the Animated Series.

It seems the only job Mark Hammel could get after Star Wars was voice acting which seems to be doing all right to an extent.

The Star Wars sequels were so terrible that even he despised them; especially Star Wars 8: The Last Jedi.

22 E.G. Daily

She did okay in ppg, no offense, but her voice is kind of irritating. In the ppg anime in the English dub, the voice actor for buttercup did a much better job, even though her voice is kinda shouty, it matches buttercup's personality more than a irritating voice.

At least she gave Buttercup a good and believable tomboy voice. In the reboot, Buttercup sounds just plain awful.

She is actually a great singer. She voices Buttercup from the Powerpuff Girls.

She is basically an older, better version of Tara Strong.

23 James Arnold Taylor

Sorry about what I said earlier, this guy is a legend. Let's just forget about Johnny Test.

How is the legendary June Foray above him?

The same guy who voices Johnny Test...

24 Bryce Papenbrook

Bryce Papenbrook gets main role in all his shows, and he's pretty good. He plays Cat Noir in Miraculous so I guess I like his teenage voice!

My ears bleed every time I hear his voice

25 Dan Castellaneta

In The Simpsons, it's like they only know this guy for Homer Simpson, but I guess that kinda makes sense?
