Top 10 Most Overrated The Who SongsAll of them are great and this band is seriously underrated, but which songs from them are just... A little overhyped?
The Top Ten
It's very important I bass history. - JoLeKosovo
It may be overrated, but I still like it. - Userguy44
I think that's a good song, but it's very weird sounding compared to their later work, and I feel they, did better songs in the later half of their career. Good Song, yes, one of their best songs/ one of the best Rock 'n' Roll songs ever made, no.
I think this is way more overrated than My Generation. My top three for this list is this song, Who Are You, and Won't Get Fooled Again. - Gg2000
I love Tommy. The album itself makes it on my top 5 favorite albums of all time. But even though this song is the signature track off the album, I feel like it isn't the best. I believe (not completely sure) it was said that Townshend, Daltrey, or both didn't like this song. The song is great, yes, but other songs off of Tommy are more well performed in my opinion, like Christmas, Cousin Kevin, and 1921. - MontyPython
Actually I like this song. But how come Robert plant gets to be a golden god and daltrey over here singing about a pinball wizard. - Brobusky
Much like The Beatles, it really is not possible for a song by The Who to be "over-rated', they are just that good. However I do agree that for some reason radio station programmers choose this one for airplay a bit too often.
My local Rock station has a love affair with this song or something. - Brobusky
A bit overplayed on the radio. - MontyPython
It's overrated, but it inspired helter skelter, and that is recognized as the first heavy metal song. So really, this song pioneered heavy metal. - Brobusky
How is this overrated? This is a masterpiece! - Userguy44
I guess "overplayed" would be a better term in this case. It's a great song, but it gets played too much on classic rock radio. - Gg2000
My personal favorite, but overshadows plenty of other songs off of Who's Next. - MontyPython
That scream though. - Brobusky
I personally thought "You Better You Bet" was a better after-Keith-died-song. to be honest, I don't listen to a lot of after-Keith-died-Who because, to me, they just lost A HUGE part in their career. (Which is, by the way, losing one of the best drummers of all time.) I'm glad they still performed and they made awesome music afterwards, I just can't bring myself to listen to it because it just isn't the same. I dunno, it's hard to explain. I'll shut up now, heheh. - MontyPython
This was probably the last Who hit I came to like. So overplayed. Great song but so overplayed. - turnpikefan2017
