Top Ten Most Oversaturated Rock/Metal Songs of All Time
The Top Ten
This is definitely one of the best songs of all time. It's an innovative piece of operatic rock music. But...it's pretty overrated. This isn't Queen's best, and it's certainly not the best song I've personally heard. I also find it really predictable to call it the best out there. But to be honest, this is the best song in the Top 3 on the best songs of all time list. Stairway to Heaven is great, but severely overrated, and Imagine is pretty lackluster. - DCfnaf
I’ve never understood all of the praise for this song. There’s thousands of songs better than this one. It’s so overplayed and oversatured (ESPECIALLY on this site) that it’s lost the very little appeal it may have had before the radio and this site ruined it for me completely. It’s not even that good of a song, let alone the best Queen song! How is this number one on the best songs of all time list?!
At first I was in the same boat, felt like the song was ridiculously overpraised but I put down the hipster glasses and realized at the time there wasn't much like it in the genre of hard rock. Granted you had artists like Zappa and Captain Beefheart already doing weird experimental rock songs but you never had a band as popular as Queen do such. So this was a very innovative for popular rock/hard rock. - cjWriter1997
Ah, here's an overrated song. Good instrumentals and vocals, mediocre lyrics, nothing too special for the grunge genre honestly. So...what makes this one of the best songs ever created again? Definitely one of the most overrated songs out there, along with Imagine by John Lennon. - DCfnaf
This song is so overplayed that it’s grating. It’s a mediocre rock/grunge song with bad lyrics from a mediocre grunge band who made mediocre music.
So many better Beatles songs. "A Day in the Life" is a masterpiece, "Come Together" is a classic, "Yesterday" is lovely, "Eleanor Rigby" is also awesome. This is pretty mediocre to me. Same with "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" and "With A Little Help from my Friends". Beatles are very, very overrated. - DCfnaf
You've got a good point there. I just see no purpose in it existing to be honest. That song is a 4/10 in my opinion. - DCfnaf
It’s not even that good a song. The Beatles are also extremely overplayed and (please reference title). The reason their most popular song has 115,000,000 views on YouTube instead of, say, a billion is because they’re so overplayed and oversaturated that nobody really cares about them anymore. But on TTT, I’m just so tired of hearing about them.
AIC is just overrated as hell. Layne Stayley isn’t even that good of a singer. Just because he sang with emotion doesn’t mean that he was a good singer. And this song is just grossly overplayed. Pearl Jam is a much better grunge band.
This is a very good song, but not Metallica's best in my opinion. "One" is my favorite Metallica song. - DCfnaf
I mean I can see the valid arguments that yes it's a highly repetitive song compared to One where yeah the whole song is excellent. Granted its one of their more underrated songs (TOT), but I'm not sure about the best, but opinions are varied. - htoutlaws2012
#2 on the “Best Metal Songs” list? #1 on “Best Metallica Songs”? NO with a capital NO on both accounts.
20,000,000 views on YouTube? Really? I’m also just tired of hearing about this song. It’s heavy, big deal! If I’m being honest, “I” is a much heavier Meshuggah song than Bleed.
I like to add Combustion, Demiurge and Dancers to a Discordant System to songs heavier than Bleed. - cjWriter1997
In general, this band is just very overrated and very overplayed and VERY oversaturated. I like them, but they have little to no variety and they’re overplayed.
This is actually really, really good pop music and one of MJ's best to me. - DCfnaf
Michael Jackson in general is just extremely overrated. I love his music, but my god he’s overrated. Number 2 on “Best Music Artists”? For real?!
I'll be honest, and say I'm shocked this was not on the initial list because this one Journey song is literally everywhere. They have other hits now come on. - htoutlaws2012
Element119 showed me other Journey songs, and most of them are way better than this overplayed, overrated piece of music. This is pretty good, don't get me wrong, but it's not THAAATTT great. - DCfnaf
Black Sabbath in general are pretty overrated. Not a fan of Ozzy's vocals. - DCfnaf
It’s a generic Sabbath song. Overplayed, overrated.
I have debated long and hard if this is indeed the greatest Linkin Park song I have listen to a ton of them, and this one is great for its time, but I prefer many others before it. - htoutlaws2012
