Top Ten Most Overused Cities for Where a Movie, TV Show, or Story Takes Place

A story is just as unique as its setting, and I will count down the top ten overused cities for settings
The Top Ten
1 New York City The City of New York, often called New York City or simply New York, is the most populous city in the United States. New York City is also the most densely populated major city in the United States.

As much as it is a great setting, I have to agree. With every American movie I watch, there is a high chance it is set in NYC. Gangsta/mafia movies are mostly set in there.

Everything from Wonder to Spiderman to the Bee Movie to War of the Worlds (movie by Spielberg), NYC is the most cinematic of all time

Lets see, the marvel cinematic universe, Ghostbusters, TMNT, the bee movie, it just goes on and on

Elf, the Godfather, West Side Story, Miracle on 34th St, just to name a few...

Since a huge number of things are filmed there, L.A. is also frequently depicted as virtually any city in the USA. The Location Managers know exactly where to go to achieve whatever "look" an area is known for.

Basically a lot of japanese cartoons and anime uses this city as the city.

As far as I know, the first Cardcaptor Sakura movie, the second half of Mobile Fighter G Gundam, a few episodes or so of Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, the series finale of American Dragon Jake Long, and (I think) one episode of Digimon Xros Wars Season 3 all took place there.
Also, Master Asia from Mobile Fighter G Gundam, Shaoran Li from Cardcaptor Sakura, and Shana from Shakugan no Shana are known to have came from/grown up there as well.
