Top 10 Most Overused Song Titles in Rock Music

Every song has a story to tell, and most song titles do a great job of helping you to predict the story of the song. However, some titles just make you wish people would stop using them! Here is a list of some of those titles!
The Top Ten
1 Down
2 Home

This title was most famously used by rocker Chris Daughtry and post-grunge giants Breaking Benjamin and Three Days Grace.

Pretty popular title. I think Dream Theater's Home is the best song with that title.

3 So Far Away

Chances are, if you listen to music at all, you've heard of at least 2 songs with this title. In the rock world, Avenged Sevenfold, Red, and Stabbing Westward have all had songs bearing this title.

The great singer-songwriter Carole King also had a song with this title.

4 In the End

When you hear this title, you probably think of Linkin Park's single from their first album. Or you may think about the well-known Black Veil Brides song. While these two songs are easily the most popular songs with this title, many bands have made songs with this title.

There was this one band that was famous a long time ago, and who had an ending line in a song titled "The End":
"And in the end,
The love you take,
Is equal to the love,
You make".

The Doors had a song with the title "The End" that still can't be played on the radio 48 years later.
The killer awoke before dawn, he put his boots on...

5 Lost

Red, Avenged Sevenfold, and Stabbing Westward also have this cliché title in common, which is not surprising. This title is one of the most overused titles in not only the rock genre, but music as a whole.

My favorite "Lost" song would have to be from Death Angel.

6 Alone
7 Breakdown

Relient K wrote a song called Breakdown about the lead singer's car breaking down. Pure masterpiece.

8 Hold On
9 Save Me

Queen and A7X are the first ones that come to mind.

10 Forever

Both Papa Roach and Kamelot used it, as well as loads of non-rock (read as: inferior) artists.

The Contenders
11 Inside Out
12 Hit the Floor

While it may be hard to notice, this aggressive title has graced the catalogs of bands like Linkin Park, Thousand Foot Krutch, and Bullet For My Valentine. Due to the rough nature of the title, it's easy to see how this title got so popular with hard rockers.

13 Numb

Linkin Park, I'm beginning to notice a trend here.

14 Destruction
15 One
16 Changes
17 Pain
18 Without You
19 Breathe
20 Remedy
21 Drown
22 This Means War
23 Whole Lotta (Something)
24 Rain
25 Monster

Think about it - from Skillet, to Meg & Dia, this title certainly is a popular one.

Starset, Eminem, Kanye West, Imagine Dragons - And those were just one page of a Google search! I'm positive there's a LOT more songs with this title..
