Greatest Paintings of All Time

The Top Ten
1 Mona Lisa (Leonardo Da Vinci) The Mona Lisa is a half-length portrait painting by the Italian Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci that has been described as "the best known, the most visited, the most written about, the most sung about, the most parodied work of art in the world".

There is no doubt in my mind why this should take the crown. Famous for that barely-there smile. But what I adore about this beautiful painting is how the artist has captured the untold story; a secret in her eyes, that only she knows about - or maybe even the artist himself! No one will ever know. And that, for me, is what makes this masterpiece so alluring.
Beautiful.

It's just the best painting like Bohemian Rhapsody the best song. Not even Leonardo's best. For a lot of people this is the only painting they know by title.

This is a really amazing painting! And the fact that Leonardo da Vinci was able to paint the man into a girl really impressed me. Yes, the model is a man.

I find it creepy how whatever way you look at her, she always looks like she's staring at you.

2 Starry Night (Vincent Van Gogh)

I don't like landscape paintings and I'm also not a very big van gogh fan, but this painting is so beautiful!

There's is just something about this painting that is mesmerizing.

This painting is out of this world... pure beauty!

This painting is so beautiful. I love it!

3 The Last Supper (Leonardo Da Vinci)

Hands down, the best painting ever. It describes every single thing described of the last supper in the bible.

4 The Scream (Edvard Munch)

It describes a man was shocked with both hands put on his cheeks and his mouth was open widely and he stand next to the seas. This painting also inspired for the horror movie Scream.

One of the earliest examples of surrealism perfectly executed.

5 The Kiss (Gustav Klimt)
6 The Weeping Woman (Pablo Picasso)
7 A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte (Georges Seurat)
8 The Night Watch (Rembrandt)
9 The Birth of Venus (Sandro Botticelli)
10 Love's Shadow (Frederick Sandys)
The Contenders
11 The Persistence of Memory (Salvador Dali)
12 The Swing (Jean-Honoré Fragonard)
13 Miranda (John William Waterhouse)
14 Guernica (Pablo Picasso)

An incredibly revolutionary artpiece which was championed the surrealism movement.

15 The Lady of Shalott (John William Waterhouse)
16 Apollo in the Forge of Vulcan (Diego Velázquez)
17 Girl With a Pearl Earring (Johannes Vermeer)
18 Cafe Terrace at Night (Vincent Van Gogh)

To me this one is better and more beautiful than the Mona Lisa"!
