Top Ten People Who Shouldn't Have Died in the Walking Dead

Those awesome walking dead people we wish never died!
The Top Ten
1 Beth Greene Beth Greene is a fictional character from the American horror drama television series, The Walking Dead, created by season two showrunner, Glen Mazzara, and portrayed by Emily Kinney.

Her character was a minor one... Kind of like Carol. Beth was just starting to become an important character in The Walking Dead history. But the new producer, Scott Gimple, decided to kill off not only Beth but also Dale. It's so sad and heartbreaking because she was just getting started. Emily Kinney's career deserved better! At least she's a great singer now! #BETH4LIFE

So sweet and so young. Why did they have to kill her off?

2 Shane Walsh Shane Walsh is a fictional character from the comic book series The Walking Dead and is portrayed by Jon Bernthal in the American television series of the same name.
3 Summer
4 Glenn Rhee Glenn Rhee is a fictional character from the comic book series The Walking Dead and is portrayed by Steven Yeun in the AMC television series of the same name.

Killing Glenn was like putting a bullet in The Walking Dead's head. He and Maggie were a strong couple. When he died, The Walking Dead felt meaningless because a key character and plot addition was killed just to prove they would kill anyone. Well, the only thing they proved was a loss of viewers. Killing him had no point in the plot and did almost nothing besides give Daryl guilt.

Glenn was my favorite character, and they messed up by killing him.

I don't know how jerk Shane is number 1 and Glenn isn't! Glenn was the only character who had a truly better life since the apocalypse began, and his relationship with Maggie was like the light at the end of the tunnel. It's not even arguable that he was one of the most important characters for keeping hope for the future of the group. It was a terrible decision to kill him off.

5 Sophia Peletier
6 Tyreese Williams Tyreese Williams is a fictional character from the comic book series The Walking Dead and is portrayed by Chad Coleman in the American television series of the same name.

His death served no purpose in the show and was just for plot. They should have killed him instead of Glenn with the bat. Then his death would have had purpose.

7 Leon Basset

Just a random tertiary character who was around for about 10 seconds on screen. About 30 seconds when he became a zombie.

8 T-Dog Theodore "T-Dog" Douglas is a fictional character from the horror drama television series The Walking Dead, which airs on AMC in the United States and is based on the comic book series of the same name.
9 Hannah
10 Abraham Ford Sgt. Abraham Ford is a fictional character from the comic book series The Walking Dead and is portrayed by Michael Cudlitz in the American television series of the same name.
The Contenders
11 Dale Horvath Dale Horvath is a fictional character from the comic book series The Walking Dead and is portrayed by Jeffrey DeMunn in the American television series of the same name.
12 Merle Dixon Merle Dixon is a fictional character from the horror drama television series The Walking Dead, which airs on AMC in the United States and is based on the comic book series of the same name.

Merle's death served very little purpose to the show and is ultimately unsatisfying. His character had a great deal left to be explored, both on his own and in his relationship with Daryl. Looking at the series after Merle's death, it sometimes feels like fans got cheated not only by his absence, but also because Daryl is often relegated to the back burner, even when significant things happen to him, like with the death of Merle. He is not given the same focus as other members of the group (even new and temporary characters) are given.

Merle, like Daryl (even more so prior to Merle's death), was one of the most interesting characters on the show. They both had a way of saying things that were just great, often more clever in their sting than Red's usual repertoire of 'cool by absurd/shocking' nonsense. He's also one of the few characters we aren't supposed to like (and who doesn't have the allure an actual villain has) but do anyway.
