Top Ten People Who Get Way too Much Credit

The Top Ten
1 Thomas Edison Thomas Alva Edison was an American inventor and businessman, who has been described as America's greatest inventor.

His credit for the lightbulb is a lie. The idea came in 1806 from Humphry Davy and the actually working lightbulb came in 1854 from Heinrich Göbel. In 1879 Edison experimented with carbonfibre for the lightbulb ( that's all he did actually ). He also was a partisan for continuous current while Nikola Tesla was a defender of alternating current. Electricity now works on alternating current wich means that Edison was wrong in a way. He can actually getting credit for inventing a proper working electric chair ( but must we be proud of that? ).

Yeah he didn't invent the light bulb that has been established. He more revolutionized the way light bulbs functioned today. And yes Nikola Tesla deserves to be recognized for his work on electricity

Nikola Tesla deserves more credit.

I don't give him any credit. I'm fine with that.

3 Christopher Columbus Christopher Columbus was an Italian explorer, navigator, colonizer and citizen of the Republic of Genoa.

Like that one visitor said, Christopher Columbus found America on accident. Not to mention he killed, tortured, and enslaved the natives so they could do to bidding.
He also brought smallpox, but that's not really his fault because they didn't really know what that was back then

Went to America for the first time in recorded history, while killing indians (or Native Americans, OR INDIGENOUS) along the way

Why the heck do we get a day off for him? We should get a day off for somebody else, who actually DID something to help people

He didn't even discover America. Leif Erikson discovered America before him. And a lot of people think there were explorers before Leif Erikson.

A+ for making so much dough!
But in terms of politics...let's just say the score is a little lower.

Make him die and you would've done all my birthday gifts in my life

Just let him stick to being a businessman.

5 Ozzy Osbourne John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne was born on December 3, 1948. He is also known as ''The Prince of Darkness''. Ozzy is an English singer, songwriter, and television personality. He rose to prominence in the early 1970s as the lead vocalist of the band Black Sabbath. Osbourne was fired from Black Sabbath in 1979 and has since had a successful solo career, releasing 11 studio albums.

@AggressiveBlaze - I appreciate most of your comments on this site but this one needs a serious revision because this comment actually proves that Ozzy really gets credits for achievements made by other people.

Iron Maiden music was influenced by Deep Purple, Bruce D. operatic singing style was influenced by Ian Gillan and not Ozzy. Metallica were mostly influenced by Deep Purple and Thin Lizzy.

Megadeth music is fast and is nowhere near the slow Black Sabbath. Megadeth have no blues elements in their music while Black Sabbath were very bluesy - Black Sabbath music was more heavy blues rock than heavy metal.

And last but not least - Tony Iommi and not Ozzy was the main composer in the band. Ozzy can't even read notes and this is a well known fact. Ozzy singing ability? - I don't even want to talk about that.

Yeah,I agree with @Metal_Treasure that iron maiden were influenced by Deep Purple. They started heavy metal. And I also like to say that many metal guitarists of 70s(mostly rhythm guitarists) were influenced by johnny ramone of ramones. His strumming technique was fast down-strokes.Even James Hetfield,Kirk Hammett and Dave Mustaine and bands like Iron Maiden were influenced by him (johnny ramone). But he barely gets any credit.

Decent term as a senator but was the worst secretary of state we ever had.

She literally mentally unfit to be president and a sociopath

Get her above Trump again.

7 David Bowie David Robert Jones, known professionally as David Bowie (January 8, 1947 - January 10, 2016) was an English singer born in London, the son of a fundraiser and a waitress. He is credited for his experimental and creative musical discography which has won praise and accolades for many critics and fans. The man who the world knew as David Bowie was an actor, a painter, a philosopher, and many other things. But first and foremost, and what he was known for most, he was a rock star, covering every genre from psychedelic folk to industrial. His influence on fashion, music, and pop culture in general remains as his legacy--along, of course, with his unforgettable music.

What makes David Bowie on this list?
He was one of the most innovative musicians in the music history!
I mean Blackstar is the best album of 2016
And Ziggy was one of the top 5 in the 70's

Blackstar is the greatest album of 2016, Ziggy Stardust, Hunky Dory and Low are all in the Top 5 albums of the 1970s and he was an incredible musician. How does he get too much credit?

Exactly. People on TTT treat him like he's some type of god when he's just a normal guy.

8 Jimmy Page James Patrick Page is an English musician, songwriter, and record producer who achieved international success as the guitarist and founder of the rock band Led Zeppelin.

A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served as a U.S. senator from Illinois from 2005 to 2008 and as an Illinois state senator from 1997 to 2004.

8 years as Commander in Chief and he never closed Guantanamo like he promised. 8 years to reverse Bush's invasion of the Middle East and instead blew more money on it. 8 years to heal race relations and people hate each other more than they have in decades. 8 years to make health care less corrupt and we have even more red tape and insane bills.

13 Abraham Lincoln Abraham Lincoln (February 12, 1809 – April 15, 1865) was an American lawyer and statesman who served as the 16th president of the United States from 1861 until his assassination in 1865. Lincoln led the nation through the American Civil War and succeeded in preserving the Union, abolishing slavery, bolstering the federal government, and modernizing the U.S. economy. He married Mary Todd and they had four boys, only one of whom lived to maturity. In 1858 Lincoln ran against Stephen A. Douglas for Senator. He lost the election, but in debating with Douglas he gained a national reputation that won him the Republican nomination for President in 1860.

It was good he freed the slaves, but people don't know the full story.
At first, Lincoln only freed slaves in the SOUTH. The slaves in the northern states were still in bondage. The only reason Lincoln did THAT was to give the South some incentive to rejoin the Union, while keeping Northern slave states happy so they wouldn't leave the Union and join the Confederates.
There is a quote from Lincoln (look it up) that basically says he doesn't mind if slavery is abolished or not as long as the Union is put back together. It's tough to believe, but it's true.
Of course, he later freed ALL the slaves, which was fantastic, but we can't forget that he wouldn't have if something had not gone the Union's way.

I hate these "revisionist" lists made up by people who think they are so smart that they found out something nobody else did.

He freed the slaves. He deserves the credit

I don't hate Ronald Reagan, but there was that Iran-Contra Affair scandal where senior officials of the Reagan administration ran a secret project to give weapons to Iran, which wasn't allowed at the time.

Younger people these days are becoming more and more Socialist by the day. Just look at Russia. The youth there are projecting Socialist ideas. If Bernie had been the Democratic Nominee, America would’ve been doomed.
