Top 10 Best Pets for Kids
Honestly I have never had a rabbit but I really want one. To me rabbits do seem more like an older kid pet. They take a lot of care and patience to get to know very well, In my opinion rabbits are good for 10+ kids and/or adults. Rabbit = awesome.
If you REALLY want a rabbit, get one! Just give it the right care, kids can't care for it on their own, so you need to do a lot. But if your kid is around 8 or 10, get him or her a guinea pig. For about 8+, or if you don't feel comfortable giving them an animal that young, 10+, rabbits are 10+, guinea pigs are 8-10+.
Rabbits live a long time and are fun for kids to have. Are fun to handle and are very soft, your kid will fall in love with it. Being expensive is a disadvantage but not a waste of money. There are a lot of varieties to choose from.
No I have a rabbit they are awful for kids because kids don't know how to handle them and they will fight if they feel threatened
GERBILS R SO easy to handle! Plus the best thing they can learn to play games really and it's fun to handle and entertaining to watch them!
Gerbils are the only pet rodent that's diurnal. (Awake day or night). You could watch them do cut things during the day and not during the night when you're sleeping. Gerbils have a big liver which keeps them clean and don't smell and they can control when they wanna poop or not. They are easy to handle. They only need cleaning once every week. They are desert animals and get most of their water from their food so rarely drink water! They are very cute and friendly. Gerbils are the long-living rodents with a lifespan of 5 years and rarely bite.
I totally agree. Gerbils are great pets to have for anyone
Ooh! 100% vote gerbil! Lol... I like gerbils because they are cute and awesome.
Are very fun to watch and are cute. Will be shy at first and is one of the easiest rodents to tame and handle. Will bite at first but then will stop after a while.
Very cute and low maintenance also very playful
I'm a rat fan girl and I'm not ashamed. They are loyal, intelligent, sweet, cuddly, cute as hell, and one heck of a gameplayer. My rat stepped on my keyboard while I was playing mine craft and drove me off a cliff!. Rats are misunderstood, and they are the most lovely things.
Kids will sometimes get scared by these guys. But when your kid gets used to it they will love it to death. And will beg you for more! I know from expieriance.
They are the equivalent to dogs. If u want a dog, but can't get one, get a rat! It's just like having a dog!
I'm a kid, and I have a rat. Three rats. They're my best friends!
For little kids, dogs may scare them. That is what happened with me and my dog, but I soon became besties with him. Dogs are a good choice for kids since they love them. The kids can play with them outside and I also love watching my baby sister laugh when my dog licks her.
It really depends on what breed the dog is. Usually the big dogs are better with kids than small dogs. But small dogs are great will children!
Dogs are the best! If you are looking for a great family friendly/kid friendly dog go for a golden retriever or ladrador retriever. They make great family dogs!
Dogs are good family pets and mostly love kids! They will cuddle and protect them. The dog and kid will enjoy each other and will be lifelong BFFs.
Cats are easy to take care of for adults. Although, they can get aggressive they can actually become tame with a kid easily than an adult. Which puts them on this list.
Cats are so easy and loyal and loving. Dogs will kill u as soon as u get a chance. My brother was killed by one.
I love black cats
They won't bite. Rarely poop and are just plain fun to have for all ages. Kids usually like rabbits and turtles and will love this pet as a gift.
Sea turtles are great pets for kids except for the fact that you'll be put in prison.
Yes they DO poop a lot
Turtles can and will bite unless you raise them from a baby and they know you. we have had a red eared slider for 5 years. my grandson can hand feed her but anyone else and she will bite.
OK they ARE amazing pets! Not as simple as weekly tank changes and daily feeding!
Here is what I do for my baby betta, Archie:
Daily:
Feeding,
Every two to three days:
Tank change (for adults, it can be weekly)
Weekly:
Bonding (rinse hands, gently place hand in water)
Monthly:
Training
What you need:
Tank, decor, gravel/sand/rocks (I think gravel is best)
Water conditioner, plant and/or somewhere to hide in,
Pellets, flakes, bloodworms/treat
I spent almost $50 on my betta, but you can try to pay less, I just like spoiling him with expensive things. Bettas are very curiouse creatures and do need a 1.7.7 gallon tank to 2.5 gallon tank. Do not keep them in any smaller of an aquarium. I HOPE YOU LEARNED, every pet is a commitment, please keep that in mind, in my opinion though, snails are the easiest to keep.
Fish may live a short life but are 100% easy to take care of. Just buy the fish, the aquarium, food and decorations and DONE. That simple and it is fun to watch them eat.
I have 2 beta fish. And the story of how o got them was touching. I was 8 years old, and I looked in a pet store at Buffalo. And I wanted a fish. My u clue said I had to ask my grandmother because she is the boss of the house. I pleaded and cried to my grandmother. And then she finally gave in. So I went back to the pet store with my mom, sisters, and uncle. And I got a beta fish. He was the tiniest, cutest fish in the pet store. So I named him Tiny Tim. I was at Buffalo for vacation. And I had to take a 8 hour car ride to New York. I took Tiny Tim with me alongside my family. He survived the car ride. I took care of him well. One day, he jumped out of his tank when me and my dad were cleaning it. I picked him up and put him back in his tank. And he survived. I moved. And he came in the car ride with my family. And he had survived. But, my dad hadn’t cleaned up his tank. This Mother’s Day, he died. I cried and got so mad at my dad. We made a grave for him in one of our flowers ...more
Speaking as a former mouse owner, mice are fairly low maintenance with a short lifespan. They don’t smell as bad as you think, and mice are also very playful and affectionate! My girls always used to climb up on my hand and rest in there for hours. Mice are a great starter pet, be sure to keep them in a fairly large cage with a friend or two since they’re sociable creatures. Not ideal for younger children however, because they will bite if threatened. Be gentle with them, they’re small and frighten easily. These misunderstood animals are more scared of you than you are of them.
Mice are fun, fast and cute creatures. If you get more mice than three than you're in for some fun. They will play and just be clowns. They will be fun to watch, espiecially for kids. Make sure kids don't handle them because they are fast and very small.
I have a wild mouse. If any of you guys have any name suggestions, please do say. We are going to release it, but it's always nice to have a name for something to show the appreciation!
Mice are cool, my sister used to have a WILD baby mouse named Kevin, he
Did not bite, but I did not touch him...
Actually my hamster is very nice and doesn't bite she is a sweet heart and I love her so much she is adorable and it is so cute when she cleans owning a hamster shows responsibility a hamster will turn out to be your best friend
Hamsters do bite quite a lot and are very hard to tame. But if your kid has patience, love and careful they will fall in love with it. Hamsters are recommended for kids age 6-14.
I had a hedgehog but he died a few days ago.
You just have to see how fast they can go.
I have seven and there amazing
They are great and easily trained
Epic lol lol lol lol
Best pets by far. They're so cute and low maintenance! You just need to be okay with feeding them rodents. I recommend corn snakes and ball pythons for kids
I think it is unfair to keep a chipmunk but they are SUPER CUTE!
Used to have one but ran away.
These are great pets! Easy to handle, not scary AT ALL
And not big for those of you who are scared of big animals!
Lizards are small and therefore easy to handle, they do need specific care, but get
It's cage maybe a cage mate, decorations, food, food and water bowl, and then,
That is all!
Really good pets
