Top Ten Pit Instruments in Marching Band
The pit is the stationary group located right in front of the drum major with the band behind them. I am a trumpet player, but I really think the pit has awesome instruments.The Top Ten
1 Marimba
The marimba has this softer sort of sound and it can be just beautiful! Especially in music that is supposed to convey soft emotion.
2 Timpani
The timpani are the four big drums that you use big drum sticks to hit with. It sounds very daring and powerful, especially if you increase the dynamic from piano to forte while constantly hitting it.
3 Gong
In a show for marching band, you use the gong 99% of the time for a sign of IMPACT! You gotta smash it when it's your time, it is very powerful!
4 Xylophone
No. Not the toy for little children, this is an actual instrument and is important!
