Best Pittsburgh Steelers Players Going Into the 2020 Season

The Pittsburgh Steelers are an interesting team. Obviously last year they were screwed over by Big Ben getting injured and thus had to rely on Devlin Hodges and Mason Rudolph neither were very reliable so the offense took a sharp hit. However their defense was surprisingly solid. There’s hope Ben Roethlisberger can come back so let’s see what happens this upcoming season maybe they can sneak into the playoffs if the cards fall in their favor
The Top Ten
1 JuJu Smith-Schuster

Sure, he missed some time, but in his relatively young career, he's developed into a dangerous weapon. He's easily the most consistent weapon the Steelers have and one of the best in the entire AFC. Now, he's doing well taking over the top receiver spot left by the void of Antonio Brown.

2 Minkah Fitzpatrick

The Steelers made a bold move by trading for him last year, and let's just say it worked out quite well for them. Miami wasn't exactly his fit, and Pittsburgh picked him up. The change in scenery led to him becoming a young stud on defense with 5 interceptions and 57 tackles. It was way better than he ever could've dreamed of in Miami. See Dolphins, this is what happens when you utilize talent properly. You could've had him, but nope!

3 T.J Watt

He has grown in his game, following quite nicely in JJ's footprints. He had 14.5 sacks last year and 2 interceptions, earning him a Pro Bowl/first team all pro bid. So yeah, he's legit. The Watt legacy is strong with this one.

4 James Conner James Earl Conner is an American football running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League. He played college football at Pittsburgh, and was drafted by the Steelers in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He's been a decent enough replacement for Le'Veon Bell. He had a monster 2018 season, getting a Pro Bowl bid, but took a step back in 2019 since he missed some games. He's still a young running back with a lot of potential if they use him right.

5 Cameron Heyward Cameron Phillips Heyward is an American football defensive end for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League.

This guy has been a beast. He had 83 tackles last year and 9 sacks, which is good enough to earn a Pro Bowl selection. And not just that, but first team all pro. Pretty impressive numbers for one of the most important players on their defense.

6 Ben Roethlisberger Benjamin Todd Roethlisberger, Sr., nicknamed Big Ben, is an American football quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League.

Big Ben obviously missed a lot of games. Now, this is assuming he comes back. Even in that scenario, will he be the same QB? Keep in mind, he's like 38 and past his prime years. He's still a veteran talent capable of running the offense, so he's better than those backups, but that's not saying much. I'll rank him towards the middle until we see him play again.

7 Vance Mcdonald Vance Coman McDonald is an American football tight end for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League.

He's a serviceable TE. Sure, he's missed a game here or there, but when he's on the field, he can make some plays.

8 Devin Bush

Bush had a solid rookie campaign last year with 109 tackles, a sack, and 2 interceptions. Not bad. I think what's even more exciting for the black and gold is he has plenty of room to fulfill his potential. He's a key piece on that defense.

9 Joe Haden Joseph Walter Haden III is an American football cornerback for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League.

Joe Haden has really developed into an overall well-rounded corner for the Steelers. He had 65 tackles and 5 interceptions last year, which was good enough for him to earn a Pro Bowl selection. We should expect to see that continue.

10 Stephon Tuitt Stephon Jakiel Tuitt is an American football defensive end for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League.

Tuitt unfortunately had his season cut short last year, but he had a solid 2018 season. If he can stay healthy and get back to those type of numbers, he'll have a solid season, arguably just as important as Heyward.
