Top Ten Places Where People are Attacked by Sharks
La Reunion is a region of France, which is an island in the Indian Ocean, east of Madagascar and 175 kilometres (109 mi) southwest of Mauritius.
It is usually a paradise spot for surfers, but the island has been besieged by sharks lately, at least 18 people have been attacked and seven have been killed since 2011. I just saw a documentary on T.V. yesterday about scientists struggling to figure out why La Reunion has seen way more attacks than its neighbor Mauritius. Scientists believe the attacks are mainly perpetrated by bull sharks, but autorities have announced a plan to kill 90 sharks (tiger and bulls) along their coastline, an archaic way to reassure the population, so cruel as probably ineffective
