Gordon "Gordie" Howe OC (March 31, 1928 – June 10, 2016) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player. From 1946 to 1980, he played twenty-six seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL). Not a fan of Ice Hockey but that guy was impressive.

Isiah Lord Thomas III is an American former basketball player who played professionally for the Detroit Pistons in the National Basketball Association. When he arrived after leading Indiana to the 1981 NCAA Championship, The Detroit Pistons haven't made an impact on the league. He changed the attitude of the team in more ways than one with his drive, his spirit and lifted the team to heights this city hasn't seen in the basketball world. When it was all said and done, Isiah brought the city a pair of NBA World Championships, a plaque in the basketball Hall of fame and a place as one of the 75 greatest players in NBA history.

1984 was that bless you boys' year and Alan was one of the men that helped the Tigers win their world championship. He was one of the greatest defensive players in the game during the 1980s and was a fixture at many of the All-Star Games and was the pride and joy of Detroit Tigers baseball. He once said "We're all responsible. I'm the leader, the captain of the ship, and I have to take responsibility." A true legend in Tigers baseball.

He was a great actor especially in that wacky 1974 hit Blazing Saddles. He was pretty good as a Monday Night Football broadcaster and a great comedian on Webster. But before all that he was a darn good pro football player and the heart of the Lions defense in the 1960s. He once said, "Toughness is in the soul and spirit, not muscles." Karras was a member of the famed NFL All-decade Team of the 1960s. He was awesome.
