Top Ten Greatest Poems

The Top Ten
1 The Raven

Today, Poe's masterpiece, The Raven, is surely among the most well known and celebrated poems worldwide, yet Poe received but nine dollars in total payment for it, and died in poverty. Quite unjust.

In my opinion, Edgar Allan Poe was the best poet ever and The Raven is one of his best works. I also really love his poem Annabelle Lee. That one is beautiful.

I wish that a form of audio recording was available in Poe's time. His recital of The Raven was claimed to have been brilliant.

This is a masterpiece. Simply the internal rhymes are enough to make it #1.
