Top 10 Pokemon that Don't Look Like Their Type

You know those Pokemon you think are a certain type and then you look it up and you realized you were wrong? Yeah, those. We can argue they should've been a different type, the type we thought they were.
The Top Ten
1 Gyarados Gyarados is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. It evolves from one of the weakest Pokemon, Magikarp. But Gyarados has a high attack power (as of gen VII, mega Gyarados is ranking #19 for highest attack stat & would rank #10 if legendary Pokemon aren't included), and a good special defense. It's typing consist of water & flying, or from its mega evolution form, it has the typing water & dark.

Y flying type, it learns no decent flying moves and it just adds to electric weakness. ARGHH pokemon ruined gyrados with the flying type

Why isn't this thing a dragon type Pokemon

Should be a Water/Dragon Type.

He looks more like a Dragon

2 Lugia Lugia, known in Japan as ルギア (Rugia), is a Legendary Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise. First introduced in Generation II, it's the mascot of the game Pokémon Silver. It serves as the master of the legendary birds trio, and is part of the tower tuo along with Ho-Oh.

.Why is it a Psychic/Flying type although most moves are water-types?

let's relate the diving pokemon to science:

The Diving Pokemon's ability is to control water but it is a psychic type;one of its name origin comes from "luna" w/c is the moon.

In relation, The moon controls the tides all over the world--I think that is Game Freak's point of view of interpreting Lugia as the "Guardian of the Sea". Anything i.e. related to cosmos (e.g. moon, stars, etc) although there are exceptions are Psychic-types.

The moon controls the tides all over the waters on earth because of its gravitational pull on one another as the moon revolves around the earth and the earth revolves around the sun. The GRAVITATIONAL PULL of the moon causes low and high tides in various places depending on the moon's position; therefore concluding that, Lugia does make sense as a Psychic/Flying type rather than a Water/Flying-type that causes 4 times weak to electric although type-advantage ...more

To be honest, I think it should be a pure flying. People say it should be flying/water, but it just looks like a pure flying
P.S: The flying type should be changed to air type

Wait he is water...

Yeah, definitely. I assumed Lucario was a psychic type what with it's aura abilities. I was surprised to find out it was actually a dual steel (huh? ) and fighting type.

Palkia and Lugia need to switch types.

9 Lycanroc Lycanroc (Japanese: ルガルガン Lugarugan) is a Rock-type Pokémon introduced in Generation VII. It evolves from Rockruff starting at level 25. The form it takes upon evolving depends on the game it was evolved in and the time it was evolved.

I don't get why the Midnight form doesn't have the Dark type. On the bright side, no double super effective damage from the opposing Pokemon that has a type advantage over Lycanroc.

It perfectly suits the Dark type. It doesn't even look like a rock type at all.

10 Azurill Azurill, known in Japan as Ruriri, is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's Pokémon franchise.
The Contenders
